I can imagine some use of something like this for a teaching professional -- studying what is happening and why, and maybe figuring out different ways to explain and teach.  That, I get.

Had a friend bring his tour guy around to do some 3D captures. We looked at one little thing, that was a big thing he should work on. Saw him at the Memphis tournament a few weeks later and he was still struggling.

 

He didn’t believe that was the piece he needed. He showed up alone a couple of weeks later and wanted to know everything (everything) about biomechanics. Every little detail. A data dump of my entire brain after years of studying. He was going to prove that he didn’t need that. I called his coach and he said no. For the love of God, don’t do it.

I wasn’t going to do it anyway, but wanted it to come from him, not me.

 

He went off to someone else, who obliged him, who knew just enough to be dangerous.

 

He went from a tour card to selling real estate. The shame of it was that one little piece, something that all elite players have, would have made him enough money to keep his card. Just try it, but nope, he knew better.

 

A victim of his ego and his need to know everything, including stuff that didn’t apply to him. Desperate people do desperate things and sometimes ignore good counsel.

 

A 30-year old who thinks they know everything is at the top of the Dunning-Kruger curve. I’ve been there, like we all probably have.

I agree on him. As DSS can attest to, I’d go in there and post once in a while just to make fun of, and point out how absurd it’s become. He actually has a pretty good sense of humor about it and admits that he should stop but just can’t help himself.

True - pharma isn’t advertising for ishts and giggles. But the answer to the other side of the question is that other countries understand that a medical decision shouldn’t be based on a 30 second ad that plays more like the end of a rom com.

Mine wasn’t. 🙂 And it’s not necessarily pharma - just the whole U.S. healthcare system. I’d bet more than half of the ads I see today are for drugs or insurance (no disrespect chi!). That’s telling.

Pain & suffering is pain & suffering. How ya get there only lets ya know who to hold accountable and sue. I currently have two lawsuits pending. One against a local diner after I dumped a bowl of hot soup in my lap. (The bowl had no clear label/warning telling me the contents may be **HOT**. I’m supposed to know that on my own?!) And another one against Panera for the Charged ⚡️Lemonade for obvious reasons.

What percentage of warnings/points do you think are random? I’ve come to the conclusion it’s gotta be ~1%. It’s like the lawsuits. Just hit report and say a post offended you and boom. It’s a weapon.

That is like my Doctor bud. He is one of the top Cardiologists in the state. He basically took over my regular medical care when my MD retired because we were golf buds. Now his mind absorbs information and soaks it up like a sponge. Which I told him was great in the medical field but not good for golf. He got to where he could not hit a ball a lick. He asked me to help him even though I was never a student of the swing. His mind was so clogged I used some beginner psyche on him. He had got on the pronating and supernation thing. I took a range ball and drew a big dot on the ball with a sharpie. Drew another dot on his club. Told him to watch and put that dot on the club on the dot on the ball. He hit about 4 balls good then started about the pronation etc again. I told him I did not care if he stuck the club in his wazoo on the backswing or downswing just hit the damn ball on the dot. He got the picture and went to playing decent golf again. He can shoot in the high to mid 80s. I have not played with him in a while. His practice stays busy now and he works a lot plus he is grooming his oldest son who is going to be a Doc himself. I finally got him broke (I think) from reading golf instruction and watching Golf instruction on the GC. 

I got paired in the Memorial event Wednesday with one of our teaching pros and we go back to the Mini Tour days. We had not played together in probably 30 years. I always had a loop in my long swing that came natural to me. He noted I could no longer pull the club back far enough to loop it anymore. We got a laugh because he is like 6 months younger than I am. He was the one who encouraged me to go to the broomstick putter to save my back. With him being as good of a student of the golf swing as he is he noted I stood more erect now which he had seen me working on that on the range. We did all the golf talk after the round. During the round we were busy hitting greens because our partners darn Shure could not. Yeah it was 6 man teams. I hit 17 out of 18 greens and he hit 18. But yeah it was fun playing with him after all these years

But, yeah, it’s pretty nice here now. Come on down. Bring lots of money. Lots of houses now on the market that aren’t moving with negotiating room since private equity and the people from California stopped buying. I think they ran out of PPP money…

 

Oh, and bring butter. Land-O-Lakes is $7 per pound here. You could make a fortune selling it out the trunk of your car.
