It won't hang out here as long as it did for ya'll. It's rare we get a thunderstorm this time of year but it's been shaking the windows for the past two hours. I'll gladly take every drop of it though as this is traditionally our driest time of year.

I did hit 3 balls into the woods, checking out that video @braincramp52 posted.

It works. I hit 3 perfect shots. I always was good at hitting balls into the woods.

 

Maybe I'll sneak away to the range and hit a few tomorrow. Rain coming for

Christmas day and then much colder heading toward and into the New Year.

 

Ha!  Some of my best golf shots are into the back woods.  Suppose to be near 50* today, 53* tomorrow.  (Every day with no snow, is one day closer to nice weather.)  Maybe grab a 7 iron and hit a few shag balls on the "range" just to say I did.  BC vid eval.   Gotta stretch it out first, so I don't pull nothin'.  

 

Merry Christmas to the Grille brethren.  May it be a joyous one for you and yours.  And a pause to reflect on the reason for the day.

Continuing my early morning ☕️ and wading through A Brief History of Time. 
 

I was initially trying to grasp it all by reading and rereading but, instead, I’m finding that, and this is a huge credit to SH, I can just read it in a “linear” manner and the larger concepts, the main “jist”, and a fair amount of detail, of each chapter can be absorbed rather well. 
 

 

My big takeaway so far is that the universe is a universe within a universe within a universe! Solid, smooth, beautiful, matter and substance, as we see it, are a by product of a manic, yet fully ordered, microscopic realm of simultaneous violence and sympathy. And that realm…is made up of still another lol
 

Application to “real life”?….

 

The smallest of smallest details can add up to the largest result.

True story.  Ladies down here be desperate . Wife and I are out to eat Saturday night with my son.  Kind of a rarity that we take him to a nicer place.  Not because he’s not welcome. Just that he usually goes out with his grandparents on Saturday night so we get the evening to ourselves.  
 

So we go in , and sit down.  Wife and I on one side. Son on the other. Waitress that we know well comes to greet us.  Normal interaction, we order etc. food comes.  We eat.  Great meal.  So the check comes and as I’m reaching for my card , waitress asks my son “ so how old are you “ ?   He sheepishly says “ 15”.   I saw her soul leave her body. 🤣.  She said “ oh my god , are you serious, what are they feeding you “.  To which I spoke up and said “ everything within reach … he won’t be 16 until July “.    She says “ I’m so sorry. My sister wanted me to ask for his number.  She’s 20, very pretty , and   works here too” which I could believe.  The waitress was attractive herself.   I just died laughing …. And consoled her.  We were not offended , but I did get a kick out of it.  The kid - he doesn’t yet understand his power.  He’s 6-3 176 at the moment and gave me the “ I think I have some more growing  pains “ last night.  He still has a baby face , doesn’t drive yet , and 20 year olds are asking for his number while out with his parents.  Alone , car , couple more years.  Going to be a problem. 🤣 … his mother is not amused.  😒 😜.   
 

so yes.  I think wild and crazy guys like you Stu and I , in a car like that , we’d have to run fast to keep from getting caught 😉

Someone said many years ago that they played KPs course went in to get a hot Dog and KP himself served it up.

I will agree that he seems to be a stand up guy. Saw his car collection on U-Tube some time ago and he has quite a collection of what I call daily driver Hot Rods.

Always liked his golf swing. He said he changed it up because of a back injury. And the TM R-7 draw irons he made those golden IMHO. Last time I saw him play on TV he was playing those. Yep for all he accomplished he seems a down to earth guy

We won our cosmic lottery for this short blip in time. Probably the only place in our galaxy of hundreds of billions of stars and planets. We’ll be gone in another blip.

 

Multicellular life isn’t easy. It’s worth celebrating every day.

Pair him with Bruce Lietzke and they wouldn’t see each other until the green. 

It was said Bruce Lietzke could not hit a straight shot. I used to hit the slinger cut myself as an anti hook move. Hard to do with modern clubs and balls. I still have the move though even though I had to change my swing. I can still do it with my old blade irons and wound balls. I did it Wednesday in the Memorial event and yesterday on the Par3 course. But even if I play the blades with a modern ball I can not sling it as much due to ball design

Last week at this time we were getting the full wrath of a storm. Very unusual for us with the thunder and lightning this time of the year. FTR we got 11" of rain in 24 hrs on my end of the beach.  I called it a tropical storm as did some of the weather gurus other gurus called it a Nor'easter but I thought that only happened in like New England. All I know it dumped a boat load of rain in a short time

There were a few guys who bought the wedges and never received them or a refund. Carl later moved back to Hawaii and was working on clubs and doing his thing on wedges for a while. I checked on him right after the ‘vid and he’d closed shop and disappeared. 
 

I liked Carl and he was great to me. IMHO his V1 wedges were the best all-around wedge I’ve touched. He sold me the last 60* V1 Proto and I gamed it for 11 years. I found another new one and put it in play earlier this year. I have enough 52 & 57 V1 P’s to last another decade.

That stinks. I always loved those wedges and was thinking about doing something this year with my wedge setup. I think Joe Kwok is still doing it and he is a master too. 
 

With the way I play it’s really hard to get properly set up without in person time.

Preach.  As a certified people watcher , thinker of deep thoughts ( relative to myself ) and being cursed with a constant stream of consciousness , even at 3am when I wake up like clockwork , I know what you mean. 
 

Around 4th or 5th grade  I asked a teacher during science lesson , “ if we’re  on our planet. Which is in our solar system which is in our galaxy , what is our galaxy held by”?  She said “ well it’s groups of other galaxies “. Not giving me the name of those groups.  So I said “ ok. What are this large groups of galaxies held in “?   She stared at me blankly.  I said “ no really. What is holding the whole thing “.  🤣.  She changed the subject.  
 

over the years I’ve asked that in many mixed company situations    Never once had anyone actually engage the idea.  Some joked about alien antfarms or “ infinite “ space.  But if I push back on the idea of infinite space.  Well the subject gets changed.  I don’t know the answer.  I just know that saying “ infinite space “ is a cop out. Because it can’t be proven or even a solid hypothesis shown.  Somewhere past the reaches that we can see , is more.  More what ?   Held by what ?  Inside of what ?  🤣. Annoying no ?

The most amazing thing is these guys are these guys look to prove it all with math. It’s not just philosophical. 
 

We climb higher and higher up Mt Olympus in our understanding of the most elemental pieces and forces of the universe. My fear is if we reach tyre summit…something really bad will happen 😳🤣

Left the Front Range yesterday just ahead of a storm. Yep. But that begs the question , is math found or made ? If it’s found.  Then maybe you can explain things with it. If it’s made.  Well. 🤣.  We’ve put our dirty paws on it. So perfection is out the window. In my next life I hope to be privileged  enough to study these things. Or dumb enough to not think about them.  Ever. 🙃
