Turned on the TV and South Park was on. Think the ep. was titled ‘Over Logging”.
Just gotta say, wow, was surprised that is allowed to air on TV at 11 am.

So are you going to order a set of the Toulon irons also? I can see you in the MB version or maybe a CB/MB set. They are sexy, about the same price as the Miura KM700 with graphite.

I doubt it. With a set of MBs and players CBs already in the stable, it will most likely be something like the 925 Fs or new Titleist 250s.

In reality it could be ‘none of the above’ as I “need” new irons like a hole in the head!

It’s currently being focused on the purchase of handguns. Recently ordered a new S&W M&P 2.0 10mm. Been wanting a 10 for a while and nothing on the ‘CA compliant list’ excited me til now.
Works out well bcs I need a 10mm like I need MB blades! 😂

Truth be told, I don't need anything. The 925 F have been great for the most part and I have shot more sub 80 rounds with them than a lot of others I had to have.

Don't need longer, decent swing these go where they are aimed. I would need 3-PW to hit the same gaps as the 4-AW.

But then again I ain't getting younger and being able to still muster enough speed to play something like the KM700 or Toulon might only be around for a few more years.

Ill be 57 this year and I do think I’m now able to see the meaning of this line

Curious if it’s just me or any of my contemporaries or seniors at the grille agree

It’s a degree a cynicism that naturally accompanies getting older, I assume. But it’s also a graduation in thinking and how I value what is meaningful and what is not.

I know we are both still active and take really good care of ourselves but, was there an age for you where you felt a marked decline? Like you suddenly realized that you were getting older?? I can put my finger on 48.

(I can feel the older guys thinkin, 48? lol, wait til you meet 60!) haha

While I do feel pretty darn good at 66, the mornings are very tough. the Arthritis is worst the 1st couple of hours and exercising adds to the pains, but in a good way in my mind.

Sore muscles means I woke them up and they are fighting back. These work trips are hard to get a good balance as I do a lot of entertaining and yes I do have a wee sip as needed. I don't do the hotel exercise thing, just too lazy.

Hell, I barely remember being 48. I measure decline by my golf game. Early 60's I really started losing distance especially with irons. But the good part is as I started to lose distance I started playing the game smarter which actually led to better scoring.

Yes, that sounds right. You’ve been consistent in fitness for years but I hadn’t been. And that’s when you really notice your body and mobility really regressing and I got serious about strength, cardio, and mobility.

58, started to feel it at 52(ish), I can't remember how old I was when I realized I was too heavy, but it reminded me the metabolism slows.  As for feeling it, my mind is still 12 but my spine is, in real time after the surgeries, about 88 years old.

I try to work out 4-5 times a week alternating between strength, cardio, yoga, and beer drinking.

Lot of truth to that. You come to see your younger self in this light and then it's obvious everywhere.

I was buff at 52, not at 62, but aside from major shoulder surgery, healthy. My Mom is 87 and runs circles around folks 20 years her junior. Very active has a disciplined diet of high veggies & fruits, hates doctors (she was an RN, lol). I hope to be like her, so diet has been much better last 3 years, dropped 17 lbs, not fanatical about it, just less salt, fat & sugar. The gym beckons because my swing post op is a**. Like starting over, but ball speed is getting there. Scores for 1st 3 rounds were mid 90's garbage, want to get to nominal for me which is low 80's gross, looks like it may take a bit more time than expected. Have not had healthy shoulder for 20 years but for last three it was even more damaged and then  fell & crashed it. Doc was skeptical about outcome. So great just to be able to play again.

Spilt milk 🥛 obviously, but you just can’t emphasize enough the importance/benefit of getting and staying in shape prior to any significant physical decline (prehab). It’s still a bit of a challenge to maintain as you age as normal degeneration happens. But compared to trying to turn back time with little to no foundation built is a steep climb. But at the end of the day it’s never too late to improve on where ur at.
My dad will b 90 this year and hasn’t worked on his core or posterior chain in at least 70 years. He walks/stands with a significant rounded back and forward lean. It’s not a coincidence

Yeah, my dad was a bull in his prime but come retirement, he sat in a recliner too much, he allowed hip & back issues slow him up too much and um, it put him to an earlier passing than he otherwise should have had.

Too many ppl these days doing the Ozempic to lose weight. Essentially just kills your desire to eat. So they get the fasting results of body weight decreasing mainly due to muscle loss. Fat is the last to go when depriving yourself of nutrients. Big majority don’t incorporate exercise. So they just get ‘skinny fat’ and have that Ozempic look. As always, most want the quick n easy fix. And as we all know. Nothing worthwhile is easy
