Jeebus, I am delusional looking at blades. For some odd reason I just want a another set 3-PW so it plays like a 4-AW (more or less distance wise).

Been surfing all day on and off, looking at Miura Baby blades, the Proto Concept C01 TB (leader in the clubhouse looks wise) Muria KM 700, Titleist 620 MB, Wilson staff MB, Honma Rose Proto MB, there are tons of very nice looking irons out there and frankly ball striking is reasonably good enough to play any of them but then again is it...then I got an email from Callaway for 50% trade bonus and 10% off the TCB irons, which I did want just not the raw which is all they have.

Also next month more new stuff comes out so more things to consider. 1st world problems all the way around.

Good thing I am not drinking this evening so all is safe for the round tomorrow. I did get in a Autoflex AF 405 shaft for the Driver to try out, could be a few yards to gain. So far they have been very good for me, figured why try a bit lighter (more to what SS is recommended for me). Playing the longest Course in the rotation tomorrow that is pretty wide open so tee it high and let it fly so to speak.

If this old fart can play blades, you can.🤣

The AF 405 was stellar, felt great and maybe a few more yards. Hard to tell as it a getting used to it round trying different things.

Going to move the 505xx to the 7 wood and 505x to the 3 wood. These things are really bizarre, waggle and they are like noodles, but when you swing they tighten right up.

Pretty darn close and I had a crap round with the irons today. Saved a 83 with the putter which is very unusual. Must be the clubs haha

My tee time is in 24 hours. Having my morning coffee watching the Tunnel Marathon go past the house 1/2 mile from the races end. The early finishers  are generally lean and in full stride. I a few hours runners of all shapes and sizes will be jogging, walking , shuffling and my hat is off to all of them. I can't run 50 yards.

@braincramp52 you have been buying clubs for slightly longer than I and I notice this pre worn leading edge thing is very common now.

Why would anyone want that? What purpose does it serve? I would ask in the club building thread but don't feel like getting flamed.

Now I was fit for these clubs and loved them and did not notice anything good or bad about it and for the life of me don't know (besides an excuse) why it bothers me now. It seems the club wants to bounce off the turf more instead of cutting into it and for the most part our "turf" is hard packed dirt with some grass throw in.

They seem better off a real nice fairway lie on the one good course we play. But I would suspect that would be true for any club.

Naw, from what I heard as they passed, he's was with that group for support. Cool race. Starts at 3000 feet elev, goes through a 2 mile long tunnel under a mountain and downhill all the way to the finish at 600 feet   Did it once on my Schwinn cruiser.

I suspect it is the new(ish) trend to fill divots with sand, and particularly driving ranges.

when I was practicing a lot I went through a set of MP37s in 2 years.  That was 2005, to this day I won’t hit an iron on the range.

I'm no expert but I think a pre worn leading edge helps against digging especially if you have a steep swing. It also adds a touch more forgiveness to guard against fat shots.

Yup, not a good topic to start the day. How about some golf stuff!! nice the U.S. Open is on already, the place is so nice.

Saw a couple of starting drives and one guy missed the fairway and the ball vanished, it did not seem there were spotters there to mark the ball. If that is the case there are going to be some lost balls just off the fairway, fun stuff.

Yeah watching some of it, it looks to be a good one this year. Big fan of course & conditioning.

Some talk of blades here, know the topic well. Best advice i can offer. Took 100 rounds for me to understand the calculus for shots is much more involved than what's needed for standard players' CB/GI variation of golf. Once i adjusted, MB's became even more pleasurable to play. Been a decade now w/ old school, might be another before i consider something other.

I have said it previouly and will say it again these darn Autoflex shafts are the stuff, picked up a 405 for the driver and moved the 505x to the 3 wood and 505xx to the 7 wood.

All of them are longer and straighter, don't know what kind of secret sauce they sprinkle on these things but it works. it is just not the lighter shafts as I have tried that before with GD shafts and a few others and it never worked out (no control) I just swing my normal crappy swing with the Autoflex and it is truly incredible.

Both of the guys in the reg Sunday group have got them now after seeing me drive it by them 50-75 yds, one guy is 85 and gained 20 yards and the the other is 45 and he gained an easy 15 on his 1st try last week, he is a big guy and swings way OTT and hits the ball very high.

I think tomorrow he should be better as the last couple of holes last week I felt bad so against my normal idea of never giving tips as I suck, I adjusted his driver down in loft and put it on the draw setting then gave him a couple of basic pointers and he immediately hit is straighter and longer.

We don't play long courses and the 85 yr old plays all the up and shoots under his age most all the time, high 70's when he is feelling good. The rest of us play the 1st set up from the tips and range from 70's to mid 80's most rounds, tomorrow is the easiest course and I played it this morning with the Course Ranger and put up a very nice 72 from 6,000 the best round of the year but it is a Par 70 so still not Par or under...

Meh, cheap 76 today. Used up all my putts yesterday. 6 birdie looks and made 1..stupid game.

Hit the 7 wood a few times today and I think it is as long as my 3 wood, going to check the SW again and see if I missed something.

85 yr old shot 39/41 today, several drives over 200 yds. He is loving his driver now.

Haha ignore me all you want, these things work for slower SS peoples
