Not judging. Just noticing.  I’m cool with you watching whatever.  I like a good train wreck now and again too. I watch loads of things that would probably surprise you. You can’t form an opinion without knowing what all extremes are preaching.  Knowing things is my nature.  That’s why I don’t have time to watch Dune.  🤣.

Yep . Ghost was a good one. Huge PS fan. Now. Uncle Ted.  He’s just the antithesis of the hippie boomer.  For that I kind of dig him.  Long haired square that talks too much. I mean. He’s the guy who tried to save Jimmy Hendrix from dope.  Can’t be All bad.

Well, he married his second wife when she was 16 (that's a little weird), and when you listen to his songs knowing this, the lyrics are pretty creepy.

My memory is failing so I looked it up.  In 1978 he was dating a girl who was 17, but they couldn't get married so he had the parents sign something.  Rumor has it he established custody (guardianship) so he could continue the relationship.  He was 30.  That is a hard stop for me.  Nope, no way, no how.  If a 30 year old approached my daughter when she was a high school senior I'd have run him out of town.

What I do know is on the PE side I would want nothing at all to do with the business of golf under any circumstance. I don’t ever root for failure, so I hope it works out for everyone.

It’s curious.  They must be Wrx level gear heads ?  I mean it is hot right now. Tigers own son is playing one. Very popular on all tours etc. and at a huge price point. But I don’t see how this isn’t peak.  How do they plan to make a $ off it ?  It’s not like healthcare where there’s a perpetual revolving door of customers.

The business of golf is just not a very good business when you have unlimited alternatives on where to invest. If I were the decision maker on the acquisition, I don’t touch that industry, period.

 

I obviously have limited information here, so the only thing I can say factually is to be real happy for the founders, who just got Paid!

Doesn't seem to bode well for the gear but rock on for cashing out. I would too.

I am only laughing because that is pretty much what I think of LVMH, I can see it now, the quality drops but the prices never do.

Sorry, me again. Standing here in the meat section trying to decide between chicken fried steaks or pork belly. 

Had my LV fanny p for ~3years now and looks as good as day I got her! Full disclosure, I do cycle it in with 3 lululemon fannys. So I’m not wearing it everyday.

I wouldn't impugn anyone for having it, but where other high end companies are sticking to it completely with artisans making their stuff, LMVH is starting to wander outside the sector for market share.  That's my thing with it.

 

Reminds me of MB back when they came out with the C-Class for those who wanted the panache without the price.

 

I didn't like how I worded the above.  I am not a discerning shopper, if I like something I buy it, doesn't matter what it is.  The butt hurt for me and LVMH is I assume, because of the name, the article would be made by a European artisan, but with their move toward market share (and profit) I could be paying for the name but it is being made by the same person who makes the Walmart handbag.

I'm a big fan of Saddleback Leather Co. I've had my duffel travel bag from them for going on ... 15 years now? Things been around the world on every trip I've been on over those years including 4 or 5 tours and looks better and better every year.
