I hear you Reid, for the most part it has been a good experience for me as well. I went to the course solo often when I lived in the DC area and I frequently made good golf buddies by doing so. 

I've only played 3 rounds this year and for two of those rounds I went out as a single. I'm happy to report that both times I have greatly enjoyed the threesome I was paired up with.

 I believe that Chef Bellingham was not intending the polenta side dish to be creamy style grits. I think he was going more with a crumbly polenta side dish and I think it worked.

Did two nights on Fremont for NYE then our Weenie Roast . Lotta touring plans for this year. Couple gigs in CA and AZ over the next month then heading on out to the midwest and east come April. Probably be out for a month in the summer then again in November. 

 

Might actually get to play some golf in the meantime!

Not the 1st. Put up some mid and high 80's An even 80, and a 79.  It was nice to put together two good nines today. I'm good at the 38/45 type scores. 38 37 from the whites. Of course it coulda shoulda been even better. Left two very makable birdie putts just short.

Yeah I am the same way I roll with the flow--- Now two things that will anger me and I have never seen it in the grille is if someone runs down my country or my flag--- The other thing is if someone runs down my religious beliefs. You will never see me even in real life run down someones religious beliefs even if I do not agree with them

My wife does some drop dead Polenta----- My favorite is when she does it with fresh local shrimp hot sausage and fresh mushrooms. But then again I can eat hers plain with butter.

I know what you mean on that----- Since my bud Little Bear passed his son has darn near quit playing and his Brother Checkers has had some health problems himself. Around my course you have the Mens groups that cheat play for a pot and carry inflated handicaps. Before I was hurt I was a solid 5 and trending lower and was told that my handicap was too low to play in their groups. I think their main thing is drinking and I am not into that either any more. I mostly play my vintage stuff during the week and may hook up at times with like minded members. Yesterday I played a 9 hole vintage round by myself and had fun doing it. Plan on maybe doing the same thing with 18 today if someone joins fine if they dont fine

That is how we have been from day one, look but do not comment if you disagree, but we have always been polite towards each other and that is why the Grille works so well, and you STU are a  perfect example of what we are.

Thanks for the respect, being an older person, one thing I've learned is the farther you wade out, the deeper it gets... so, yeah the vibe is nice, the grille is nice, Food is nice, don't wanna let it spoil in the fridge, my grandson was reading the grille as a teen. I think what concerns me most about the 'riske' of society as you put it, is people measure how bad something is against the badness of society, not realizing all along that boat called society is drifting farther and farther from shore. So some in society think I can do 'this and this' because its not as bad as 'this', then before you know it I'm doing what previously was 'this' but I ain't gonna do 'that', until before too long, and I'm doing 'that', but I'll never do 'THAT', and I'm not being so naïve as to be talking about some little cartoon on works. Heck, since only 20+ year olds are on here why shouldn't they be able to see whatever they want, they're probably headed off to the thousands of porn sites anyway, they come here for golf, after all, they (20+) play golf too. So let's enjoy what we have with the understanding that golf is the foundation of our woes, and we don't have the intention of drawing anyone into the pits of hell collectively or individually, and perhaps some of us would like to do the opposite. 😊

Maybe it's for the best.  I sometimes scroll here at work when I've got a few minutes to spare.  I know I shouldn't goof off looking at message boards at work, but the thread is pretty active during my working hours due to time zone difference and sometimes I leave a comment before everyone leaves here for the evening.  Don't want to get caught looking at questionable cartoons or pictures when someone is passing by or wants to talk to me.
