Just back from Costco! Thought if I got there before 10:30 it wouldn’t be too bad. I was mistaken! But thankfully it’s only ~10 min from my house (shout out to BC! 😜) and the self checkouts make getting out a breeze. I only had to run over 3 people inside that were parked in the middle of the aisle site seeing 🤦🏼‍♂️ Went for Christmas dinner prime rib. Wanted a 5 bone bone-in prime. They only had prime with a pre-applied wet rub. I’m typically not a fan and do all my own rubs and marinades. Literally the friendliest burcher I’ve ever come across in my life assured me it was the way to go and not too salty. So pulled the trigger. Also had a car w/a sweet license plate parked next to me when I came out 😊🏌🏼‍♂️

Damn!  You could buy a new putter for that price.  Otherwise the thing pictured just goes down the toilet in 36 hours.  A putter can last forever (probably in your closet).

One year, it was off the charts, just cosmological alignment, best steak ever, better than any steakhouse, hands down.

 

Was like the matrix steak! But prime rib. 
 

So what happens? Was good amount left overs and and I see mom wrapping making take home containers and…

 

she gives this huge container of steak to the idiot (actually nice guy 🤣) husband of her best friend!

 

I swear I was livid! 😡 I almost started cursing and rip it out of his grubby hands!

 

But I figured that wouldn’t be very Christmas like 🤣

Fun wine discussion too. My favorite wine is red, dark and full, and under $30. Bonus for under $15 if it drinks ok. 
 

I worked briefly in the Napa Valley wine industry. I watched these yahoos claim they could tell a reserve Yountville  Mondavi cab from a Calistoga or St Helena grape. I bet them a days salary in a blind taste test but got no takers. Meanwhile, every time I heard them wax poetic about “hint of currants and blackberries” I wanted to laugh. 
 

I lived with a French family for part of a year in Blois. He was in charge of the Loire Valley appellation du tastevin.  In other words, knew his wine. Had a great palate. Taught me a lot.  Punch line - we drank table wine for dinner at his house from Algeria. It tasted great, especially w his wife’s incredible sauces and cooking.
