I HAD the gig. But the problem?

 

Rehearsals were way out in the Valley. Like Encino. Man, I lived in Hollywood! I ain't going to the Valley!

Playing one more gig in 2023 - party for our lovely friend's 60th. Made me think back on this past year. 

 

Can't even think of how many gigs there were, how many towns I went to, how many other bands I heard. One thing I can say; is my favorite is the rad AF Bama Lamas out of Chicago.

I wonder what mental gymnastics he went through to come up with that set-up and swing?  I've never seen it mentioned or diagrammed in Golf Digest.

Here's my swing about 12 years ago in Japan. I put the video up about 10 years ago.

I hadn't touched a club for years before this from two herniated discs.

This was the beginning of my geezer swing to compensate.

 

Hitting Hogan PC's. About as forgiving as a woman scorned.

They would not around My League. We have about 7 or 8 guys now playing all hybrids. I told @Obee about this when I first "met" him on another thread. I never knew to doubt him. I had a gentleman at my old course in his mid 70s at the time. he carried about 5 hybrids no FWs. The only "irons" in his bag was a Trusty Rusty 56* and of course his putter. He did carry a driver. He could constantly shoot his age or better from the Gold Senior tees. He is a legend in golf circles among the Leaguers on this end of the beach. When our course closed at the end of 2019 he and 99% of the league there went with another golf group. I have not heard from him in 3 years now. One of my guys asked about him the other week. But yes I became a believer in the all hybrid thing years ago.

Me too I am retired and not in any kind of hurry---- Now some of these retirees here will darn near run over you in the store to get a lottery ticket or Sr Coffee. Sometimes you see the cashiers get flustered. I tell them do not hurry on my account I am retired but not in a hurry. The key for me here is to leave the house in plenty of time to get done what I need to do before my tee time. I guess my trucking ways carried over to my retirement

Yep as all know I am a blade man and those PC Hogans have a tiny sweet spot. At least the old MacGregor blades I used to hit had a dime sized sweet spot. Not that i was ever that good of a ball striker. If you look at any of the old I rons I played any amount of time they were wore all over the face
