I nominate myself for the worst handwriting of anyone on GolfWRX. I'm not kidding. I can't read my own writing, so I print everything. I can write Japanese kanji pretty well with the right balance, but it's just lines and some curves.

 

My wife writes so perfectly, it looks like it was printed.

 

My handwriting is so bad, a pharmacist couldn't read it.

WOW were you in Murrells Inlet and did not look me up? This Home Depot here is sorry. People do not want to wait on you nor do they know anything but----- they can pass a drug test and have a driver's license. LOL one of the pre requisites for any job around here now is to have a drivers license. I did see a restaurant in Dirty Myrtle a few years back that the parking lot was full of Mopeds and bicycles. In SC you can lose your license for DUI and still get a Moped license. When and if you get your real license reinstated you have to carry SR=22 insurance for 2 years which is expensive and from what I am told now you have to install one of those devices which will not let you start your car if you are drinking. A bud of mine runs his own shop and is licensed by the state to install those units. You rent the equipment and have to pay to install. Whenever your time is up on using it you have to again pay to have it taken out

The wild and whacking world of high end Audiophile.  Where high end power conditioners can cost $5000 and up.  Makes golf equipment seem cheap by comparison.  

 

 

Yep we have a Power Conditioner on our Sound Board at Church. We also have built in surge protectors for the whole Church.

When I was at the other Church up the street we had a bad July thunderstorm one year. We got a surge that burned up the sound board and several computers plus the organ. When they called me to look I was puzzled and figured it came in on the ground side. Our claim was so big (North of 20K) that the insurance company sent in an investigator that was an electrical engineer. I had told them prior for some reason the surge came in on the ground side. Basically those know it all transplants said I was full of Hockey. I worked with the investigator and he came upon the same conclusion and showed me why. I had inadvertently figured it out in a different way. Seems like the church was improperly wired from the get go. One of the members remarked I had said the same thing. The engineer told them I might be a redneck and a truck driver but that I had a lot of common sense and reasonable deduction. That same storm for the same reason did a kick back in my shop destroyed my A/C, little fridge, stereo and electric gram scales. Had the guy who rewired the church do my shop and it is proper now. He did check my house which I had no damage in and it was done correctly.

Speaking of redneck, a friend and I built the ultimate redneck Moped when I was a kid. Took a lawnmower engine and put it on a rack over the back tire of an old beat up tandem bike. I don’t remember how we extended the shaft, but we got it low enough to reach the tire. Put a pulley on the end of the shaft so that when the shaft turned, the pulley spun against the tire, thus turning the wheel and voila - a moped! On our first ride, we got halfway around the block and the back tire blew. We weren’t smart enough to realize that the friction from the pulley wore right through the tire.

It has always been said cops and doctors have the worse handwriting. Back when I was trucking and we did paper logs I did really neat draftsman style printing. Believe it or not I have had diesel cops question if I filled out my own logs especially when the wife was with me. The last 6 or 8 years I ran I did not go far enough to have to log. Now days I hardly write anything except scribble in one of my notebooks and now days my penmanship sucks.

Yep it has been law for some while in SC about moped license. If you have a regular car license you are covered. I guess it is a way to get money out of the drunks and slackers. As of 2 years ago you also have to get a license tag on the Moped and insurance is not required I presume for the same reason.

Like the redneck moped. Never did it per say but had my version of it. Took the 16HP Wisconsin engine off of our aerator and put on my go cart . I was only 13 and had read up on either. I liquefied 2 cans of either and added to the gas tank. Oh trust me it ran until the piston melted. I put it back on the aerifier and did not say squat. My old man had to order a new engine the next season. I did come clean on the deal some 30 years later before the old man passed. He said he figured I had something to do with it all along

A busy day for me today but not golf wise. Our church is putting on a big concert tonight with a total of 50 guest musicians. Went in at 10AM to get stuff set up. Even in my rock and roll/country rock days have I ever ran a show this big. Got the premilitary done and ran a sound check at 3:00. Had to make some corrections and adjustments. I decided to rest here since the wife worked last night and is home asleep. So I am up in the balcony cat napping and typing on here. Final sound check is at 5:30 and the show is at 7:00. @aenemated will love this out of a 64 channel board I am running 53 channels. We are using some borrowed blue tooth type stuff because we do not have enough wires in the basic snake to accomplish this.

When I was a whippersnapper, Stoli was all the rage. Fill a shot glass, put it in the freezer for

a half hour and then down it. It was just a fad.......like a Corona with a lime slice stuck in the

top of the bottle.

Come to think of it, fads are really dumb.

 

Made me think someone had to pull the puppet strings somewhere to get one started. 

Maybe some of the benefitting companies were behind some of them. Others, I think

we're just someone famous getting copied by people hoping to be like them, lol.

Circling back (sorry) to EV's, Hertz is getting rid of 20,000 Teslas and going back to ICE's.

Insurance companies and Hertz aren't happy. Accident rate is too high, repair costs are too high and repair costs for vehicles in accidents with EV's is too high from the high mass of EV's. All things we talked about.

 

Be that as it may, per se, as it were  . . .

Yep - $245m loss for Hertz, $12k loss per car. I also read that the rental rate wasn’t what they expected. Too many people unfamiliar with EVs and had range/charging concerns.

 

At Thanksgiving, our niece rented a Tesla from Hertz for what should have been about a 4 hour drive. Took over 7 hours due to repeated stops to charge.

Vodka right out of the freezer served neat - that’s a treat! We no longer keep a bottle in the freezer (what degenerates we were!), so shaken with ice is now the preferred serving, although we enjoyed neat vodka in a bar carved out of ice in Whistler. Couldn’t find pictures from inside the bar, but while searching, I came across this one with my son and his wife. Good memories!
 

 

I’ll take an olive or two in my martini, preferably stuffed with jalapeños, but no dirty martinis for this guy.

Home bound. 3 weeks of sub freezing temperatures. Caught the crud from Mrs. scotee. Coughing my brains out and all the other usual Flu symptoms. It's got to get better!  

Watching some Bob Hope Desert Classic.  Now that the wrap around season is gone it almost seems like the world is right again. Now if we can get this other golf mess fixed. irregardless life will go on.
