LOL my running partner Big Bear called me last night and was talking about that on the predetermined winner. He is a big Eagles fan. He knows I do not keep up with football but calls me anyhow because I guess I am a good listener. I guess up at our eating place called The Hippie Hen House the drunks were crying because that is a Ravens hang out. As a good customer we were invited but we declined. I told the owner (a real nice lady) that we would stay home and watch golf and to take some football fan on the waiting list that wants to watch and enjoy over us.

I understand the aggressive mindset, and I know that’s how they played all year. It’s how they got there. But when you reach that stage of the playoffs, you just have to take points when they’re there. 
 

I thought the attempt early in the 2nd half right after SF kicked a FG on their first possession was the big one. Kick the field goal and it’s still a three score game.  At that point, one more score by your offense is probably enough. I know it’s easy to 2ng guess, but…….

 

I like KC in the Super Bowl. Their defense is underrated and Mahomes is…….well, Mahomes.

Agree on the FG. And, could just be my recall, they seemed to be throwing more on early downs rather than running, ticking the clock down 

 

Also a few horrendous attempts at tackling with just popping the guy and not wrapping him up at all…then the guy taking off for big yards.

Definitely. The league has become just try and make a hit with the shoulder and knock them down. Very little “old school” form tackling where you simply wrap up and take the guy down. And when you’re doing that with Dabo, it doesn’t work. Guys just bounce of him. And McCaffrey drives so hard with the legs he runs through weak tackle attempts.

Posting from just down the road in Palm Springs where a group of friends took a short break from winter to re-learn what green looks like. Hiked in Joshua Tree yesterday. Pickleball the day before (which I f*cking hate, but less than I love Mrs DT). Some serious good behavior time there. Golf tomorrow which will be first test of rotator cuff and probable new Finau- style swing.

Don’t worry. It’s not much better. I played for the first time in what feels like months yesterday. 57 degrees. Nastiest round on memory.  Just mud. Mud mud. Nothing enjoyable about it. I truly wish I had went to work instead. At least  it payed instead of costing me $.

Apparently I still remember how to hit a golf ball hitting the range yesterday. Darn plantar fasciitis is a bear though. Certainly feel it this morning. I’ll run some dirt on it and walk it off.

 

A college age kid next to me was teaching maybe his uncle. He hooded his irons about 30° and hit screaming, 10’ high shots that started left and went left. His stock shot. He used the width of the driving range.

 

The uncle was oohing and ahhing like this was a good thing. The kid then taught him how to hit that shot.

 

I headed to the practice green and they followed a little later. The kid sets up next to the “No Chipping” sign to show him how to chip.

 

Sets up with his feet about 80° open and skulls one across the green. People are dancing out of the way.

 

Sets up and does it again. Unfazed, he shows the uncle how to hit that shot.

 

The kid is striding across the green to pick up his skulled shots. As he passed by me, I couldn’t resist.

Just in a melancholy mood.  The kind where you look forward to playing a round all week. Then after you wished to god you hadn’t. Every minute sucked. Not your swing. Not rust on the game. Just the group. The weather. The turf. The kind of round where you hit 14 greens. Don’t hit a ball out of play and shoot 81. ( crap greens)  Come home exhausted. In pain.  Mad at the time wasted.  People used to tell me “ take a break from the game. You’ll love it more “. I’m opposite. The less I play the more I hate it. And at the same time I have this little voice saying “ be thankful.  Many many many would love to be able bodied enough to play”. And somehow  I still can’t fake it often enough.  May not play again until summer. 
 

im actually thinking very hard about building a car for myself , for the very first time.  I’m at some kind of stale point where  I have less time , more irritation and creatively I feel extremely bored.  You asked. And I’m sorry you did. No i haven’t been huffing paint 🤣

Man, gotta feel for the Lions fans. All they have been through and it looks like an almost certainty that they are finally going to make it to the SB, and then that… I mean, it almost makes ya feel like the FB gods must just hate ‘em😞 They even sold out their stadium at $20 a pop just to watch it on the big screen!
