Ask Under Armour & Nike - they've been fighting / swapping over their top designer. Was at UA for the first Steph Curry shoe, the Nike woo'd him away. Current Curry shoe is a flop. Now UA has hired their guy back from Nike (he hadn't started due to a non-compete).

This isn't happening if the Acushnet IPO rumors are true. You don't spin off one of the most profitable aspects of your company and then go IPO.

IMO, it is about the crappiest thing Callaway produces currently, so a step in the right direction...

 

agreed. probably why there really isn't a single tour player in their shoes.

 

buying footjoy makes some sense seeing how a majority of their staff (and basically everyone other company's staff) already wears them.

 

i know its just perception, but when i think callaway shoes, i think of those cheap plastic saddles you end up finding at discount stores for like 30 bucks.

And they really oughta stop. The Del Mar's are fine casual shoes, but their "sportier" shoes look like something you'd buy at Payless.

Brad my man looks like we're stuck searching for near mint classics on eBay, sending to Larossa to resole, or buying Allen Edmonds. Nothing as good as the OG Classic made to order shoes ......

This thread says Callaway will partner with New Balance for shoes, IMO that sounds more likely.
