2016 Scotty insert change possible????

Alright fellas sorry for another question. So is it possible to change inserts on the new 2016 scottys?? Let's say take a notchback aluminum insert and put it into a newport instead of the stainless and vice versa?? I love my aluminum golo and want that feel in a blade putter. I found this thread:

......about removing the insert and looks like double sided tape? So is it that easy just to remove one and reinstall with new tape in both and screw back in???

Also anybody know how to get that gold insert look? i think a blacked out newport with gold aluminum insert would be one sweet custom putter for a fraction of the cost of a circle t/009!

Notchback insert would not be plug and play that's for sure. That custom NP is badass but the insert alone made me not buy the new line.

Why is the notchback insert not plug and play? They look identical or am i missing something? but yeah i am still testing the new line. my 15 golo 3 has been great almost perfect at times so it will take a miracle to knock it out of the bag

Someone will eventually machine some custom inserts for these putters.

A deep milled custom copper insert would be awesome!

Aluminum would be nice, but it would throw off the weight a fair amount which is probably why the notchback is the only blade with the aluminum insert. Copper is closer in weight. If someone could weigh an insert then you can calculate how much weight needs to be added/subtracted to reach a target weight.

Aluminium 6061 - 0.0975 lb/in^3

Stainless Steel - 0.289 lb/in^3

Copper - 0.324 lb/in^3

Yeah it would be and couldnt you just add heavier weights to it to make up the difference? And i really want a aluminum or something softer in it

It definitely can be done, I was just saying that the newports used stainless because they would probably have to go outside the normal 10-15-20 gram weight kits to do it for only those two models, which would probably cause more issues, even if they are in perception only.

i am just curious to if i can swap inserts and i can deal with the weights later!

They have a standalone website too and may be able to work with you if you want a new insert for the new camerons - http://www.bigfootgolfproducts.net/. Give them a shout out and let us know!

Only way to know if you can swap inserts is to try it. I doubt Cameron designed them to be interchangeable. If even one dimension is off (width, height, shape, thickness, screw hole position, etc) it won't work. I doubt a call to Scotty will glean any info.

LOL yeah i know i want to just buy a couple putters and try it! its just 4 bolts in the back and heat up the double sided tape right??

I just stopped at a Edwin Watts on my may home and looked at the new 2016 Notchback and Newport. The inserts are a different shape and thickness (the alum insert is thicker on the sole than the SS) so I highly doubt these would be interchangeable.

Have you putted with both yet? I did, and it's pretty hard to tell the difference between the SS and the alum inserts. Neither feel as soft as last years Golo with alum insert - IMHO. In fact, I thought last years Golo's were actually too soft. No feedback (to my hands anyway) when a putter is that soft.
