Clicgear on sale Dicks Sporting Goods

When I play alone, I thought it would be good exercise to walk, at some point carry.

Need to do this in baby steps....

 

Clicgear 3.5 on sale at Dicks. It is normally $219.99. They had it on sale for $199.99.

 

With coupons etc, I got it down to $174.99 before tax.

 

Looking forward to getting it out on the course.

Push carts are awesome. I have one of the original clic gear carts and it's still going strong. And I walk more than 40 rounds per year. Enjoy!

I remember playing with my dad when I was 13. We used push carts. They have come a long way from 40 years ago. LOL.

 

This thing is definitely awesome CheckJV. I did research on the forum etc and determined clicgear was one of the best, another great thing about Golfwrx. :)

I was just doing that. The cooler looks like a mandatory accessory.

Also, my normal bag is a Sun Mountain C-130 cart bag. I never thought to check if this bag fits .

 

I just put it on the cart and wonder if the tour bag accessory clamps for larger bags is a must and how well it works.

 

I had read they still do not work well, something about they are not high enough. Anyone use them?

 

Basically, I am looking the run the SN C-130 with the clicgear 3.5. If this is not feasible, I can use my Ping Hoofer stand bag I guess.

I have the cooler bag, I haven't used it yet since it hasn't been hot enough.

 

I've seen some posts where people have been happy with their C-130 cart bag w/o the tour kit, you may want to try it out first. On a push cart, I've used a Sun Mountain MCB, similar to the Sync where were designed specifically for push carts, I have the longer clubs towards the front of the bag (where the pockets are facing) and the smaller clubs in the back (closer to the push cart handle). This way I don't have the club heads banging into the shafts, the club heads all hang down, not nesting against other shafts, similar to a carry bag arrangement. When I tried that with a C130, the wedges just hang on the grab handle. So it depends on how you arrange your clubs and your level of OCD. YMMV :)

The 0CD level is high... I may even go as far as to consider the zipping head covers. ;)

 

My thoughts are to walk with the last club used to my ball, clean it, pull the next club selection, put the last club away, and pull the next iron selected. I have always been cognizant of pace of play.

I really like my Clicgear 3.0. I walk 2x a week and IMO that is the best way to play golf. Since it is over 100 these days I'm riding more, but I enjoy the round more when walking.

 

As far as Clicgear accessories, I recommend the following:

 

Seat. It is $49 on eBay and it is for sure the one thing you should get if nothing else. You will be thankful for the chance to sit down when the round gets slow.

 

Wall hook. Inexpensive and very handy for storing the cart. Gets it off of the floor.

 

Insulated bottle holder. It helps keep the drink cool, and it has a mesh sleeve that is perfect for holding a cell phone / gps.

 

Another thing I'm looking at is the upgraded umbrella holder. This is the one design flaw IMO as the umbrella is right in front of your face. The upgraded one allows you to tilt it to the side.

+1 on the Seat and Umbrella holder. You don't know how many times during a slow round having a seat has been a godsend. Also like the umbrella holder as well. I not only use it for rain, but I put up the umbrella during sunny days too. I can angle it so that it provides shade while I'm using the seat.

Won't regret the push cart.

 

Depending on how often you play, it will likely pay for itself in a year through savings from lower greens fees.

ClicGear is an awesome push cart. Folds up super small and is great on the course.

Bought my 3.5 couple weeks ago for $179.99 no tax, free shipping. Took off the umbrella holder and put on the steering knob. Now time to work on a few more accessories. This is the first cart I ever owned. Works great. Like carrying my bag but when I get close to the end of the round my game starts to go down hill some. I blame fatigue from carrying. My game is more enjoyable now with this cart.
