Cobra irons finally came in..what the heck are these marks?

Some of you may saw my rant about the king forged irons on back order that Finally came in with the wrong shafts.

 

They're in now with correct shafts but I saw these weird marks in the plastic on the clubs. Then when I took them off there were scars in the iron on both toe and heel.

 

Is this normal? What the heck are these marks? If not normal should I call cobra and go nanners?!

 

I should say some irons he marks are bad (like the 5) and some are less severe

Wow... talk about bad luck with that order. I would definitely ask for some money back. First thing you have to do is obviously call them asap. I wouldn't return the clubs if I wanted to game them, but I wouldn't le that slip by. If they have any pride in their products, they have to offer something, be it money (what I would prefer), or a free club, or whatever. Let us know.

Did you order nonstandard lofts / lie angles? Those look like they could be from the clamp on the machine - but even so, they look particularly sloppy.

Yes and yes- I thought so but these seem super bad. Every iron i have owned has been adjusted but I've never seen marks like that.

But why would those cuts be in the plastic too? Do you think maybe they adjusted hem with the wrapper on the club? That seems insane but the marks were in the plastic wrap perfectly spotted where the marks are

I personally wouldn't care what the cause is. I'd be demanding a full refund and shopping elsewhere for clubs.

Yes definitely marked from being clamped in the loft and lie machine. Either the machine is damaged or had been used incorrectly to leave marks like that. Absolutely not acceptable on a new set of irons. It would make no difference having the plastic on while they are adjusted. You need to get in touch with Cobra customer service.

Don't let that mistake slip. That's unacceptable on Cobras part I would demand a full refund especially with that being their second screw up with you

I think the black finish makes it look worse than normal, and they *might* not be avoidable. I wouldn't blame Cobra if they would only exchange them for chrome.

Those gauge marks are unacceptable. OEMs can and do bend loft/lie without leaving marks. If that happened with Callaway irons they would make it right. Immediately. Their customer service is that good.

Yes, don't hit them if you want to return them..... It's a mistake or sloppiness by an employee. They'll likely expedite you a new set without marks. Using them makes it trickier....

It obviously weakens your case that they are "unacceptable" if you use them and then want a refund.

Ouch, that's ugly. Like most said I would contact Cobra to set up a return with a refund. I wouldn't deal with them any more if they screwed up my clubs twice after dropping hundreds of dollars on them. I would be shopping elsewhere. I'm sure you could find something else you like just as much.

I have had every set of irons I have ever owned adjusted, both locally, and by different mfg's, and have never seen marks on the soles ? Did have a set marked up on the hosel, but they were replaced in 3 days. No way these should have been shipped to you. I would call first thing Monday, but I would send these pics to them today via email. Not good

I will say every OEM has bad luck and some goof working for em. But Cobras made everything right for me.

 

I ordered an aftermarket shaft from them once. Wanted the std myfly8 adaptor. They sent the pro version on it. They sent me the regular adaptor no questions asked without asking for the pro back.

 

I have a King F6 FW where the weight screws stripped. Warranties without issue (still waiting for it back) they aren't the fasted. Usually 6-10 business days.

Please report back. I should think Cobra will build you a new set perfect per your order, AND refund your payment. Honestly, they should also let you keep this botched set. It may only be cosmetic but no less unacceptable. Note: Cobra delivered more than just "good" customer service when my dumb*ss cracked the shaft in my King utility 3 iron. Based on my experience and MY causing an issue with a bad swing on hardpan, I trust they will rectify the situation when the problem was on their end.

That doesn't seem right at all. Ask for a refund or a whole new set and don't send the ones you have back until they fix the problem.

UNACCEPTABLE. My King Forged Tec Irons were adjusted and came out perfect. I would send an email to an executive at Cobra, not just regular customer service. Detail the first mistake and then the second with photos.

 

A good company will remedy these mistakes with a rush order and throw in something extra. A well worded complaint to the right person will go a long way. Good luck!
