Worldwide Golf Shops 50% Bonus Trade... When??

Hey guys, if I remember right, I think the shops under Worldwide Golf (Golf Mart, Roger Dunn, Edwin Watts, etc.) do a 50% trade in bonus twice a year? Is this correct? Or is it only once? They had it a few months ago, just wondering if anyone knows when the next one might be

they have it very often, but catch is that value is based off PGA, which is significantly lower than their own quote. In result, 50% bonus doesn't help as much.

The manager at one of the RD stores explained the process when I was doing a trade-in a couple weeks agoy. When they do the 50% bonus, the value is based on PGA Value Guide. If you just do a straight up trade, they give you 60% of what they will sell it for (internal pricing).

The last time they did the promo was back in April. But Golfsmith was still doing one a couple weeks ago, so RD just matched the promo for me. Even with the PGA values, I made out just as good as I would have selling in BST after deducting shipping costs! RD also double checked the 50% bonus vs. their regular values to make see which one would give me more.

Another good thing with RD was they allowed to pool all my trade-ins into a single new purchase. With GS, you would only get the 50% bonus for the same type of club...

Do you have this backwards? I just went into RD and wanted to trade in a Spider Limited putter in excellent shape. PGA Value guide has it listed at $126 for trade in value. The guy at the counter does this whole calculation thing and comes back with $104. I've traded in many times at RD but this is the first time I tried during a 50% bonus and every other time, they were spot on with the PGA Value trade in price except this time.

Sometimes they only let you buy new clubs, i asked last week when I was there and they said it was good on anything .

I think their used prices are way out of line.

Most of the time that i see something that is a current model, it's maybe somewhere between $10-25 off retail. With a worn grip and no headcover that's supposed to be a deal?!

Its like they dont want to discount the used club because they would rather you buy a new one.

I couldn't ever trade something in there for 50% of retail knowing that they are going to mark it right back up

reason for high priced used stuff is their 90 day return policy. I bet they have very high number of returns within 90 days. If you want a better pricing, look for orange tags. It's trade-in items and their price is very fair. Also you can ask for 10% discount with high success rate.

I was looking for a Glide when they where just out. 129.99 new price, 119.99-109.99 used/yellow price tag, 89.99 orange/trade in price tag. There are good deals at RD if you look. The Super Stores are your best bet.

Also, there are often great deals on putters. Ping, Odyssey and sometimes Scotty and Bettinardi (Saw a BB1 counterballance like new for 179.00 yesterday) on prior generation models.

On a side note. The Nike driver and FW woods are an absolute steal at 150.00/100.00 new with Diamana shafts. Pretty sure that is the price everywhere but still.....
