Thanks for posting! I held of getting the C130 cart bag at the start of the year, glad I did. I like the modifications they made on the '17 model.

 

Now to just pick a color, the navy/black/orange is calling my name, but with all Titleist woods/hybrids (black/red headcovers) possible the colors would clash. Maybe the Gunmetal/Charcoal/Red. Decisions decisions

The Navy/black/orange does look really good. Get some new headcovers to go with your new bag!

So disappointed that there are no new colors for the C130S. That is the perfect bag for my needs but the current colors suck so I was holding out. The 4.5 and c130 both have some great color options, too bad the c130s is getting no love.

Anyone tried the new Smart Strap System on the 2017 C-130? Is it better/easier than the trying to thread the cart strap through the holes in the bag? Do the velcro straps sturdy enough to be durable for multiple years?

 

I am trying to figure out if I should buy a 2016 model (will it go on sale soon?) with the traditional strap holes at a discount or buy a 2017 model with the new velcro strap system at the full price.

I own a Three 5 from a few years ago, and it actually weighs 3.5 lbs. So, it is nice to see that the 3.5 and 4.5 are somewhat descriptive of their weights for next year.

 

Sun Mountain has weights listed on the lightest bags but omits them from the specs of the others. You cannot find on their website what the Three 5 bag weight is. Just weird.

 

I assume 5.5 means 5.5 lbs, but you would have thought that this year's 3.5 weighed 3.5 too.

I really like the 5.5 bag. The size and all the pockets. I should see one in person in the next week or so. I am not crazy on the clear pocket. I thought it would look better if it was just a solid pocket. I also cant see on the website how the water bottle pocket looks on this bag. Is it in the pocket like this years or is it a separate pocket like the new 4.5. I may consider a 4.5 if I can fit a rain jacket and rain pants into that apparel pocket.

Very intrigued by the 5.5 as well. It almost looks like there is 3 pockets on the left side (looking at the front) of the bag, one is an open pocket that appears to be for a beverage like the old bags used to have, then a zippered pocket and another pocket on top of that which appears to have almost a draw string like closure on it. I could be looking at it 100% wrong and be way off but that's what my eye sees in the pic. I think the 5.5 might be the perfect bag for me as it seems to be a great blend between the 4.5 which is a touch small for me and the Hybrid which is a little overkill.

Curious, there both a 3.5 LS with 4 way and 14 divided slots. Both listed as same weight. Previous years the 3.5 had 4 way and the 4.5 had 14 way which I always assumed accounted for the extra weight. Curious if they do both weigh 3.5lbs

I just got the bag and have only used it twice. I tried the smart strap the first time on a cart where my bag was the only one on the cart. It didnt stop the bag from twisting or sliding. I havent found anywhere where Sun Mountain depicts the proper way to attach these to the cart. Like where or how to use them properly. I looped them through the basket area on the back of the cart. When used with only one bag on the cart it seems to be loose riding. At one point I noticed the bottom of the bag began to ride on the outer lip of the bag area on the cart. I have used it one other time with another bag on the cart and it rode much better. I am going out again this weekend and will try to get there earlier and do some testing on how to best fasten these straps. Seems dumb I would need instruction on how to properly attach them, but it sure would be nice if they provided any info on the best way to do it.

 

I will say this though, the bag itself is awesome. Really looks like what a cart bag should. My buddy has the 2016 bag and just going by the looks, I like the 17 better (he does too) Now is it worth whatever extra it may cost you? Thats ultimately up to you. Im sure you'll enjoy either, theyre really great bags.

The 2016 had a cooler pocket as well, and mine does have drainage holes. Can easily hold 2 1 Liter Smart Water bottles (they are about a foot tall) with room to spare no problem. I'd imagine you cold get 3-4 20ozs in there or a 6 pack if you packed it right, goes about 1/3 of the way up the bag.

C130 is a great bag but when I always buy black I can usually just buy one couple years older for a great price. Not much of a change other than colors.

I have the C130, it's held up remarkably well, looks basically new. It's a keeper as are my 4 other C130s...or is it 5? I've used C130s since they came out, so have somewhat of a collection. They also hold my 'spare' sets quite nicely.

Thanks for posting this deal, I got the 2016 C130-S. As much as I liked the Woode system and torque strap on my 2005 Ogio Exo, I think I'm going to enjoy the 14 dividers and twice the storage much more.

 

I called Sun Mountain and asked if there was going to be a new C130-S coming out this year. The customer service person said nothing new, just a discontinuation of one of the colors (I think it was the Citron, but can't remember now).
