I'm 42 and am a Marine (former active duty) so you can imagine what I like in hairstyles but you guys are seriously stretching it if you think his "boys" are busting his chops or if he is getting a bunch of flak. I can tell you right now if I showed up in Rio with a high and tight I would slay nothing. Personally I like the fact there are guys pushing the boundaries of fashion with golf. The whole cotton Hilfigers golf shirts and Khakis/Chinos is dead and SHOULD BE. If you want to bust his chops for the haircut then you need to be ready for the criticism you will receive for doing that. Have you seen Patterson on the beach volleyball team (USA 1). The dude has a mohawk...or is that acceptable because it's not golf? The whole idea in being a role model is to attract new and younger kids to the game and to say hey, it's ok to not look like your Dad. My 15 year old plays and he will roll with long socks and a flat bill but I can tell you right now when we show up at coursed the cart kids and younger pros go talk to him and give bro hugs before they acknowledge me. . I think if there is anyone in the sport who can cross cultural lines it's RF. Even if he finishes DAL he earned his way onto the team and is soaking up every minute. Good for Rickie. Comparing anyone to Hitler or Himmler is over the line. Even if it's about a hair style. Seriously. It's F*ing Hitler.

8. Let's lighten up on the nazi comments, although several weeks ago I commented to a coworker that it was odd/ironic that all the young kids were getting Hitler youth haircuts. If you look at old pics it was the style from that era but accusing anyone of being a Nazi is ridiculous. But yes it was the common hairstyle favored by many socialist and communist leaders from the 1930s and the 1940s in both Nazi Germany's and Maoist China.

HaHa, my redshirt sophomore year in college I got a perm(think serious curls) and an earring before fall camp. Well, as any of you that had/have em know, you're supposed to keep a solid gold post/ear ring in for a few weeks till the hole is ok to put plated posts in. Well, I was 2-3 days post-punch and off to camp and I found this stainless lightning bolt and since myself and the other inside backer picked up the nickname "T&L(Thunder & Lightning), in the ear the lightning bolt went and stayed, per the instructions.

 

Well, the second morning of camp, I woke up and my ear was swollen and I had a serious case of cauliflower ear so off to the trainers I went. Turns out the sweat from inside my helmet combined with the cheap a** ear ring in my ear lead to me missing 3 days of three a days, lol.

 

So I show up ready to go the fourth day and my position coach takes me aside and informed me that I would be joining the "Breakfast Club," a small and select group of idiots that for various and sundry offenses, ie, cutting class, boorish behavior around campus that got back to the coaches and apparently being a dumba** pertaining to getting an earring, met each morning at the stadium at 6:00am to run sprints, cones and the stadium steps for an hour before starting our day.

 

I let the hole fill in, let my perm grow out and went back to being a booring a** white guy.

 

But for a few days back in 1982, I was a f***** rebel!!!!

 

GO RICKIE!!!!

My 14 year old has pretty much the same cut and it (to me) doesn't look good on him either.

 

Having said that, my 11 year old who is obsessed with golf thinks that Rickie is the greatest. He really strikes a chord with the younger players and definitely influences my son's sense of style on the course.

I don't really think that you're gonna find any "old" dudes in this thread who were seriously complaining. It's no different than if guys are sittin around the table in the 19th hole and we're givin each other s***.

 

It's all in good fun. Noone tries to make a light hearted topic into a serious discussion. No one sprinkles in PC to ignite an arguement. And regardless of our ages, we keep it light and in the vein that it was intended.

 

There may be "old" dudes who are out of touch, just as there are young dudes in the same boat sittin on the same porch, but they ain't in this thread.

This lovely thread just brought back a memory from a few years ago.

 

So this guy I know barely, joins our normal group, I have never played wit him before. He's good guy, married with kids, good job, in his mid 40's pretty conservative overall. He shows up dressed in head to toe full on Rickie Puma. Wide brim, Puma shoes, puma pants, belt shirt the whole deal.

 

The other 3 of us were like WTF?

 

We get to the parking lot afterwards and it just struck me how funny it was that a 40 year old Rickie poser was loading his clubs in a mini van.

Rickie is by far my little guys'(12-16yo) fave Player. My one showed up this morning(14yo) with his white Puma high-tops, white joggers and his red/white Puma shirt with red wide brim Puma hat, lol. Rickie moves the needle with the boys for sure. I had the opportunity to Play nine with him and he is as sweet as he is cute, haha. He is a sweetie, no matter what his current haircut is! :) Maddie
