Why you shouldn't steal peoples Clubs!

The other huge problem with this guy is that he never even considered the possibility that the kid might have bought the clubs from the real thief. I realize it might be unlikely, but imagine if the kid was innocent, unknowingly bought some stolen clubs off eBay, the BST, or through some other forum, and then gets gunned down by Fire Marshall Dave who promoted himself to judge, jury, and executioner. Granted if he had the full set in the bag it's doubtful he's innocent, but still this idiot was ready to kill a person over golf clubs.

It was all fine until he kicked him in the head. Dude would have got a fine and maybe a night in jail for the theft. But as soon as you assualt him in the head now you are a criminal and on a higher magnitude than his theft.

The guy held at gunpoint has indeed filed a complaint against the Fire Marshal alleging several violations of both his civil rights and Oklahoma law. The DA is looking into it.

That was a horrible decision by the fire marshal guy. I don't believe any state besides Texas allows you to kill for property, but even there, you have caveats such as it must be at night, there must be no alternative to protecting your property, and any other method of stopping the crime would put the owner at undue risk....

I'm not sure about citizen arrest laws in their state, but I know no state affords one the right to pretend they're a cop and kick someone on the ground. To me, it looked like aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with all the threatening plus some sort of battery for the kick.

Gut is lucky a cop didnt shoot him for being an idiot and pulling a firearm in a parking lot. How would a leo know this guy is not a terrorist or psycho?
