Let's hear some of your injury stories for the year. Golf is far tougher on the body than many think. On top of it I think most of us hurt ourselves off the course too

I think it's sore fingers - the back is just from poor posture while you incessantly type. ;-)

Tore a muscle in my back near the scapula on August 17. Haven't golfed since. It's painful and a slow recovery. I'm going in for x-rays soon to make sure nothing major has happened back there. I have metal rods in my back and need to make sure nothing has come apart.

Back in March, I broke the hook of hamate in my wrist, making practice swings in my house; no impact at all. Still recovering from the surgery, but I was able to hit balls last week, and it went well. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a round or two in before the frost hits.

If I don't get out, this will be the third or fourth season I lost to injury.

Torn extensor tendon in my elbow. Had surgery and still struggling to get back to 100%.

the body is all connected so my trail foot tear was actually related to my tight calves which highlighted my ITB soreness and stiffness and hip and low back inflexibility. This also impacted my scapular mobility which led to sore shoulders, tennis and golf elbows in both arms and tingling in my fingers.

After much work, all that is left now is lead arm tennis elbow. i am almost pain-free now.

The road to recovery has taken 2 years i guess.

Don't get old.

I have a torn labrum in my right hip, verified by an MRI. Physio will begin after my annual trip to Pinehurst from Oct. 20-26.

Sorry to hear it.

I tore my left labrum years ago. On top of it I had a collection of bone spurs, impingements, CAM pincer. Had 6 hour surgery in Nov '15. Took all my heart to get back to feeling somewhat decent. Had a decent season. Let me tell you, its a difficult recovery man. If you don't get it surgically repaired, it will always bother you. If you get it repaired, get your tough boy boots on, you really have to get back to the basics in movement patterns and athletic movements. Learning to walk without a limp took me two months.

Blew out my lower back in mens league basketball last week. On the injured reserve once again. Hoping I didn't mess up my hip in the process...again.

Really have my fingers crossed for both of us dude. Labrum injury for golf is a nightmare.

Achilles Tendinitis during a 12 mile training run, last run before a half marathon. This was back in April. I have yet to work up the courage to run again. Hopefully soon, cause the weight has definitely crept back up.

Thanks for the kind words. I've survived one heart attack and prostate cancer. The labrum will be easier.

Another torn labrum and impingement of my left (lead) hip with some arthritis to boot. Had surgery to repair it last November '15. My surgeon did a microfracture of the femoral head to promote growth & healing within the joint and to hopefully delay the need for a hip replacement (we'll see). The recovery time was pretty long, but I was very diligent with post op protocol ant PT. I was back playing after 11 weeks and have played reasonably well this season. Range of motion is much improved and most of the pain is gone...at least the type of pain that I had before the procedure.

Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago my left knee began to swell. I've had x-rays, but won't see the ortho for another week. It's not incredibly painful, but there's definitely pressure and fluid in there. This is the same knee that I blew out playing football and had a major repair of the ACL,MCL, and medial meniscus back in 1984. I've been active and athletic my entire life, so I suppose parts just start to wear out...lol!

Oh, for anyone with elbow tendinitis, get a theraband flexbar and do the exercises. It's amazing how well it works!
