Well,

After talking with Tom for about 25 emails or so, and getting permission from Jeff for using the headshape of his design --- I'm having my own notch-proto built by Tom.

 

For reference - here's Jeff's thread for his putter:

Model: Prototype (303 STAINLESS STEEL)

Fabricate/Weld Hosel: YES – LONG PLUMBER NECK

MILL NOTCHBACK

 

Weight: 360g

Length: 36 inches

Lie: 71 degrees

Loft: 3 degrees (actual milling)

Sight alignment: Sight line on the topline (translucent blue paint fill)

Sole: blank

Bumpers: blank

Initials: none

Grip: Gripmaster Stitchback – Blue

Shaft: FST NON-STEPPED steel putter shaft

Cavity: 3 large ‘tour’ mill dots (translucent blue paint fill)

Face: Hand stamp “SLIGHTER” and “CUSTOM” (black paint fill)

Handstamp NEEDLE LOGO center of SLIGHTER/CUSTOM hand stamping (blue paint fill)

Milling on face: Fine

Finish: Non-Glare Satin on Top & Cavity / Polished Face & Sole

Headcover: Slighter - Rose and Fire Black Waxed Canvas

 

 

time table is 10-12 weeks *not months* so, Merry Christmas!!!

 

Can't wait to see this -- still deciding on whether or not to add some form of stamping to the sole of the putter...hmm

Will look fantastic. I've never loved the double bend shaft in a blade head, I think the long neck will be perfect.

 

I've asked slighter in the past some build info...I found him to be a bit pricey for my budget. Top notch work however.

 

Enjoy the process. ...going custom is a slippery slope....get ready for 2 and 3 and 4

Cant wait to see it! I just shot my personal best bogey free, 7-under 65 the other day with the putter pictured above. I slowly phased it into my bag while phasing out my '16 Scotty notchback and never looked back. I absolutely love it. I'll probably have Tom make me another one just as a back up.

 

Glad this one has inspired another! Will look awesome

no thank YOU for the ideas -- I'm thinking the above Byron will be relegated to backup/putting green duty and the silver Slighter will be getting the nod, simply due to maintenance/durability.

I've also revised my order -- there WILL be stamping on this -- it will be a touch hokey, but 100% true to the putter (you'll get it once you see it).
