T-MB question

Recently picked up a 4i and 2i. The 4i has the stock AMT shaft and the 2i has a vista pro shaft. Debating on what type of shaft to reshaft these with. I understand the logic in matching them to my current irons which are Nippon NS Pro 1150GH Tour, but was wondering if anyone went to a lighter weight shaft in the T-MB. Both are going to be primarily used off the tee, but the 4i will used on the turf as well. Looking for control and a mid-low ball flight with these two irons. Driver swing speed is 100-105 and I have a moderate tempo.

 

I'm leaning towards steelfiber i95's and wondering what others in my situation did.

It is not the same head but in my zu45, i went with a gd di 85 stiff and it is perfect. Check them out

I loved my Tmbs with I95 steelfibers

But I have that shaft in all my irons, so it wasn't really a transition for me

Had a T-MB 2 iron that I installed a USB Recoil Proto 95 F5 shaft in and it was fantastic!

Sold it as I now have PXG 0311T irons.

the longest i95 is 40 inches, would that work for the 2i? I see it's listed as a 3i shaft

I have a 3i T-MB to go with my Mizuno MP-15s

 

I have stiff C-Taper (normal) 120g in my mizuno irons and C-Taper light 110g in my 3 iron, I definitly like that I have a little bit lighter shaft in my 3 iron. I had the 95 steel fibres in my previous set of clubs (Taylormade TP CB's pw-4) and I liked them a lot but they simply ended up being too light for my swing speed (About 93-94 mph with a 6 iron). But in a 3 iron I would go with a lighter shaft! If possible try it out first

The whole idea behind the AMT shafts is that they are progressive weight. Lighter in the long irons to help hit the long irons higher. I personally love the AMT shaft in my T-MB 4 iron and have a T-MB 3 inbound.
