To all GWRX Members, please beware of bogus solicitation through Private Message on GolfWRX or other forums you frequent.

I have received a bogus solicitation asking for my help in completing a transaction of money into a phony account with the intent to capture my credit information and to steal money from those who are willing enough to help.

This fraudulant message came from the member using the name LIPS

I am JULIA AKUMA. I work with the African development bank( A.D.B) in SENEGAL. it is my wish to solicit your assistance in a business transaction that will be of benefit to you and I. during our investigation and auditing in our bank for the end of the year 2006, my department came across a very huge sum of money belonging to a deceased customer of the bank who died along with his entire family on 26th of dec 2003, in a plane crash disaster. in cotonu Benin republic .

Although personally, I kept this information secret within myself to enable the whole plans and idea to be profitable and successful during the time of execution. the side amount was$27.2m (twentyseven million, two hundred thousand united states dollars).as it may interest you to know, I am writing, following my interest to your profile on here as i believe it is the only way i can get a good friend to excut this transaction.

I believed that you are capable and reliable to champion this business opportunity.
meanwhile all the whole arrangement to put claim over this fund as the
benefice next of kin to the deceased, get the required approval and transfer this money to your account if you indicate your interest has been made.

in fact I could have done this deal alone but because of my position in this country as a banker , we are not allowed to operate a foreign account and would eventually raise an eye brow on my side during the time of transfer because I working with this bank. this is the actual reason why it will require a second party or fellow who will forward claims as the next of kin to the bank and also present a foreign account where you will need the money to be re-transferred ,into on his requests it may be, after due verification and clarification by bank officials.

I will not fail to inform you that this transaction is 100%risk free. on smooth conclusion of this transaction, you will be entitled to 30% of the total sum as gratification, while 10% will be set aside to take care of expenses that may arise during the time of transfer, while the remaining 60% will be for me and my future husband. please you have been advised to keep this business as a secret between you and I for I am still in service and intend to retire from service after I conclude this deal with you. as soon as you confirm to me your willingness to assist me in this business I will send to you the deceased bank account information’s and application which you will apply to the bank for inward transfer of this fund to your account.

I will be monitoring the whole situation here in the bank until you confirm the money in your account and ask me to come down to your country for subsequent sharing of the fund according to percentages previously indicated and further investment, either in your country or any other country you may advice me to invest in. all other necessary information will be sent to you when I hear from you. I suggest you can get back to me as soon as possible stating you’re wish for more clarification...

These scams have been all over the news for the past few years and have only gotten worse and more active in their attempts to steal what they can from whomever they can. You may also see this on other Forums you belong to so please be aware.
