Here is my set of Hogan Redline irons (3-E). These had been rechromed with a satin finish and reshafted with DG X-100 shafts. I may reshaft these with stiff shafts some time in the future if I decide to put these in play. Either that or I can muscle up and play the X-100s.

The satin finish and X-100 shafts were how these came to me. I have not done anything to them ...... so far. :)

Love this thread! In an effort to keep it alive, here's a couple shots of my '99s (my personal favorites), including the butter knife and two wedges (52,58). My first set of Hogans in 1978 were Apex IIs, followed by redlines in 89 and then the '99s. Loved them all. The box is the original shipping box from the '99s, which now holds a near mint set of '93 Ft. Worths.

Nice Hogans NSC! I have had a few sets of 99's and played them for a couple seasons. Sweet blades, Apex 4 shafts were a little too soft for me..

I have a 9 club display for a number of my persimmon drivers. Here is a shot of the heads on my Hogan display. Some very cool clubs here from the Tom Kite, to the Hogan Apex Custom, to the Macgregor Hogan Texan, to the 1953 commemorative, 1957 Precision, 1958 Starburst and a nice 6-screw and 4-screw and inverted Y insert!

What is the makeup of three combo set? I see a iron Apex Plus.

Thrifted the Apex + 3 iron this summer. Just happened to be in the bag the day I took the pic. Was experimenting with it as a driving iron of sorts. Subsequently discovered that I get better results using a Ping Eye 2 2 iron. Not a believer in the "purist" bag.

 

WTS, building out a 4 - 6 Apex Plus and Apex MB 7 - E set this winter. All shafted with Nippon 950's. The 51* K Grind and SI will stay as is. And probably going with 3/8" shaft length transitions. A poor man's DIY MOI set if you will. Still calculating and fiddling with the SW numbers.

 

Probably will not make any difference in how well I play, but that's not the point.

Don't be so sure. It's going to look like the bomb! And when it looks good you feel good and when you feel good you play good!

 

FWIW the coolest damn thing I ever laid eyes on was a set-up that consisted of Adams CB-1's from 3-6, Adams MB 2's from 7-PW and a pair of Vokey wedges at 54° and 60° all done up in a black PVD type finish with white paint fill and white GP Tour Wrap grips!

Thought I'd put my recent 'find' on here. Not in the league of some of the gorgeous woods shown earlier, but still.

 

A set of 4x Slazenger Ben Hogan woods that I picked up with a set of 1970 (I think) Slazenger Ben Hogan 1+ irons (see my other thread).

These are in very good nick for 46-y-o clubs imho.
