Pro V1x, HX Tour, or Nike One Platinum... which one's best?

I agree, each of these balls has a strength and a weakness. I've played some of my best rounds with a 2nd gen Mojo ball, but with that said, ProV1X is my latest choice.

It seems that since Nike One Platinums are made in Japan, perhaps they are borrowing technology from Srixon, or vice versa, or maybe even being made in the same place. It does seem like a very well made ball.

 

It was softer than what I'm used to, but I can see how some golfers with slower SS would love this ball.

 

Are the new Nike One Blacks closer to V1x's? How does the zur-s compare also?

once I'm done scuffing or losing all my HX tour and 56's.. I'm switching to the new Pro V1X... I find it slightly longer and I put better with a Titleist for some reason.

I've been playing Pro V1x's for about 5 years now (old version), and find it to be the longest ball for my swing. My driver SS is 110-115, and average about 270.

 

I picked up a HX Tour in the long grass one time, and it seemed to be a solid alternative. Feels very solid for short game, but I'm not sure it's quite as long as the Titleist. Never hit a Nike One, but if Tiger's playing it, there must be a reason. Please voice some of your opinions about these balls.

 

(NOTE: I know there are many other great balls out there: Pro V1, Srixon, Bridgestone, TaylorMade... but let's keep this discussion to the above 3 balls only! Thanks)

Ah-so, domo arigato. I knew somebody in Japan was doing it, and it was probably one of the other ball manufacturers.

I found a new version Pro V1 in the long grass the other day, and it gave me the perfect opportunity to try it for free.

 

I have to say that I'm very impressed. The cover doesn't scratch as easily as the Pro V1x on iron shots, and it feels just as long off the tee. In fact, I shot a career round of 74 with it yesterday. Unfortunately, I decided to play a couple more holes with it, and ended up driving it into a tree on the left of the fairway. Now it's back where it came from... in the long grass somewhere awaiting to be discovered.

 

Once I get through this batch of Pro V1x's, I think I'm going with the new Pro V1's.

 

After a second test with the 2007 NOP's with my own clubs, it's a very solid ball as well. Very durable and long, and soft around the green.

Funny you say you found an HX Tour and tried it.... lol

Exactly how I ended up switching from the ProV to the Cally....

 

If I am playing very hard greens, then I still believe nothing beats a ProV, However......

I play a callway Xtour 80% of the time, because they fly farther and dont spin quite so much.... I have had problems in the past with a 9 iron spinning back 30+ ft

I must say the 2007 model ProV is much improved and may keep Titleist on its throne.....

BTW my SS and Driver cary distance is very similar to yours....
