Bertha Mini 1.5 Driver

I know this is old news but is anyone using one of these ? I'd like to hear some feedback if you do.

Great club. It wanders in and out of my bag from time to time. Only about 10 yards short of my driver and more accurate. I started a trend at my club and now there are about 5-7 guys who play it routinely.

Using it and it's a whopper off the deck. I hit it off the deck last round for fun and it was awesome. I like it off the tee also. I have the 14° model because I got it for a steal. I guess it's essentially splitting the 1&2 woods with the 12°&14° heads. You could possibly get rid of the Three wood and Driver with this club if you were trying to get a wedge heavy setup going.

Using a 14* model turned down to 13* on draw setting. Posted in another thread about this club, but I'm hitting a ton of fairways with this club and am losing 10 yards at most from my best shots from a Driver. However, since I've been so inaccurate with my driver I'm actually averaging 30 yds more with this club.

Love it off the tee, it is a rocket launcher off the deck. Great club into the wind, can get at least 230 yds.

Definitely considering replacing driver with one of these. I think seeing this thread just made up my mind.

Yep got one as well 14 turned down to 13 in d position as poster above mentioned. Its at most 15 yards short of best Driver hits and it finds more fairways for me. It goes in and out of bag depending on how I'm hitting driver.

Sometimes I use it with the driver in the bag as well.

 

I would recommend if your in the market for this type of club.

If have 14 adjusted to 13. I like it so far. I use off tee on shorter par 4. Love so far and got brand new on eBay for $130 last month.

Sldr mini is also a possibility. You can get one with a TP shaft for 50$ to see if you like owning a mini. I love mine.

My Bertha Mini 1.5 is coming Monday. I bought a mint one for $90. Cool thing is the weather is still good enough I should be able to get out a few more times to try it out.

I go the other way. I have a 14* turned up to 15*, and I use it as my 3 wood. Great club, so solid feeling.

My reasoning for getting one is the fact I'm not a big fan of huge heads. I've known for 20 years that a 44" driver is best for me so I'm giving this thing a shot.

I think you'll be happy with it. Did you get the 12° or the 14°? As it appears most people are running this at 13 or more...I'm happy to have a 14°. It should cover me through all of my evolution in golf.

I have a Sldr and I picked up from another WRX'er. Only had it 2 days but I like it so far. Drives that would be in the trees are now in the rough for me, so that's good. It really is significantly shorter for me though (maybe 30 yards or so). I have the 12* version (driver is 8.5*). Like it off the deck though for long shots into par 5's as I no longer carry a 3 wood.

Found a 14 degree with a tour green shaft at the pga superstore used rack for $90. Great club, the flight is surprisingly flat and I can hit low running bullets off the turf.

I have my 12 degree set to 14. Tee it low and it still produces a nice flat trajectory. It's surprisingly low-spin so there's little curvature offline and tons of roll. It's long enough to not get me into trouble at my home course, which is very penal if you're not keeping it straight off the tee box.

How does this compare to the Callaway "deep" woods? I have an OG 3deep that works itself in/out of my bag from time to time but this has piqued my interest...

Man. I must be the only one who didn't like this head. I love the concept of 'mini driver' but I hated these. I'm a Callaway guy too. The Mini 1.5 felt awful, and the setup was really 'clunky'.

 

Ironically enough, I'm a big fan, a raving fan, of the original 3 Deep. Presently on the lookout for a 5 Deep.

Has anyone tried one of the Mini 1.5 stock shafts in a driver head? I like to play a shorter driver and just curious how these would work. Would the Kuro Kage be too light in a driver head at that length? I hit a used mini at GG today in the used bit and liked it. Also - I agree with the earlier post about the original XHot Pro 3 Deep. That thing is a cannon!
