Rombax 7X07 Install Help Needed!

I'm installing a 7X07 in a 425TP and I'm unsure if any tipping is needed for the shaft to play true to flex. Given the shorter bore depth of the 425, I'd be inclined to tip it. But the Rombax only has a 2.5" PTS and that ain't much to be messin' with....

 

Any advice or experience would be much appreciated!

Most TM heads tend to have a shallow bore and "standard" insertion depth has always been 1.75".....I always measure the TM hosel depth, subtract that from 1.75" and tip the difference to get it to play true to flex....Its always worked pretty good for me....

Do you know what CPM the shaft is supposed to play to? If so you could measure it.

7x07 play softer tip than the W series, but that doesn't mean it'll play softer that much. Without tipping still give you about S flex IMO. Tipping could alter the ball flight too if you do it to much!If your swing is above 100mph w/ medium tempo, then you might start thinking of tipping, or else don't do it IMO. Your intention on this shaft is to get the ball flight higher, right?

I was thinking this as well, but I have very little experience with TM heads and even less with the Fuji Rombax. If I did go this route, I would only tip 1/4" at the max. I'm afraid it would effect the ball flight too much with only a 2.5" PTS.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to the measure the CPM's. But I suspect the Rombax X series will CPM stiffer than they play...

Thanks for the help Joe! Yes, I want to launch it higher with this shaft. But I'm working with an X flex Rombax and a SS of 105-112 and medium tempo. I'm considering tipping 1/4", what would you recommend? Should I just leave it alone?

105-112 w/ average 108-109 I assumed!

 

Medium tempo, would probably better of w/ soft X anyway.

 

I wouldn't tip it if i were you. What is a 1/4"anyway IMO.
