Athletic/Tapered Fit Pants

I'm looking to pick up multiple colors in a good athletic/tapered fit pant. Anyone have opinions on the best they've purchased?

 

UA, Nike, Adidas? Looking to hear peoples opinions that have tried these and if the size they normally wear fits true. Trying to find some deals this off season online.

I have good luck with the adidas 3 stripes climalite pants. GlobalGolf is running them on sale right now with a free belt per pair. Ua pant sizing seems to be way too inconsistent for me.

Bonobos Maide Highland. You can sometimes find on ebay for better than half price.

bonobos are great, their waist usually runs a size big. I'm normally a 34 , but order a 33 in bonobos.

 

Gap made an lightweight poly chino this year, tailored fit in navy khaki and grey. I beleive it was called the performanace khaki. would be fine with a base layer, but definitley a summer weight pant. cut was fantastic though. some stretch makes it a great golf item.

I didn't see a tapered option in the bonobos highland pants. I think it was tailored, slim, athletic, standard, and boot cut.

 

With tailored being described as the slimmest/tightest/closest to skinny jeans. As I hate the skinny jean look, I didn't pick those.

 

I just don't want a ton of fabric flapping around from the knee down. Hopefully slim fit will right. Otherwise I will be exchanging for another fit.

Bonobos look good as well but a bit pricey to be picking up multiple pairs. Anyone ever see these on sale anywhere?

Bonobo's(Maide Golf) will go on sale and you can pick up a pair for a decent price. I have had some issues with inconsistent sizing where I order a 36" waist for two different pairs and they don't fit quite the same. But the are good with returns so not really an issue. And their pants are more of a tapered fit.

 

I did just order some from Stromburg, decent price and their lengths work better for me.

So my pants just arrived. First impression is WOW. These are awesome. Fit for me is perfect (38/34 slim fit in Navy and White). I have plenty of room in waist to tuck in a base layer and golf shirt without feeling like a sausage casing. Pants have a nice tailored look to the leg without that awful skinny jean look. They frankly look/fit like my tailored dress pants. The fabric, stitching and construction of the pants seems very nice and high quality materials. Going off just the look and the feel, these are higher quality than my Addidas/Nike/UA pants. I was worried that the 34 length might be a 1/2inch too long and look bunchy, but I couldn't order the 32 length b/c "highwaters' is an even worse look than bunchy. However, these are the perfect length for me. The fabric is a good medium thickness as well. Will probably need my compression/base layer for sub 45 degree rounds, but I like the medium weight (I am NOT a fan of any 'summer weight' style pants at all).

 

I may or may not have just ordered two more pair ...... :)

I came in here to say the same thing. Great cut and fit. I wear them often to the office and then straight to the course.

 

These are the ones I have my eye on the most. The website says the ankle opening is 7" wide. My favorite pair of pants are around 6.5" wide. So an extra inch in diameter should work very well with golf pants.

 

Only downside...neither Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy, Dicks, PGA Super Store, or 2 Adidas Outlet Stores carry the Tapered model. Only the Ultimate Regular. So besides spending $80 on them, I can't even try them on to see how they fit before hand.

Follow up. The highland golf pant is possibly the best pant I've ever worn. I haven't even golfed in them yet but definitely everything I wanted in a tailored fit golf pant. Shame most of them are out of stock but going to order more.

Bumping this thread with a possible lower cost alternative. Old Navy has a performance slim pant that is awfully close to the Lululemon ABC pants. I saw them online and then checked at my local store. They did not have my size, but from all appearances they have similar fabrics and cuts as the ABC pants. I have a couple pair on the way to see how they fit, will update with a review once they arrive.

 

$43 on their website right now with four colors in a ton of sizes.

Eh, hard to beat the bonabos highland pant for $54/pair (currently). I have two more coming.

 

Now at full sticker of $110/pair or whatever for the bonabos, that's a different equation.
