Athletic/Tapered Fit Pants

Bumping this thread with a possible lower cost alternative. Old Navy has a performance slim pant that is awfully close to the Lululemon ABC pants. I saw them online and then checked at my local store. They did not have my size, but from all appearances they have similar fabrics and cuts as the ABC pants. I have a couple pair on the way to see how they fit, will update with a review once they arrive.

 

$43 on their website right now with four colors in a ton of sizes.

Eh, hard to beat the bonabos highland pant for $54/pair (currently). I have two more coming.

 

Now at full sticker of $110/pair or whatever for the bonabos, that's a different equation.

 

Well, if they fit then you are set. I typcially find that slim fit pants are a bit tight below the waist through the quads (years of cycling and skiing). The ABC's fit well with just a bit more room than a typical slim fit. If the Old Navy's are the same then $43 for a pair is not too bad. Plus, free shipping and a store that is close means there is no risk to trying.

+1 for Maide (Bonobos). I also received a pair of Adidas Climacool as a gift recently and they fit much slimmer than Bonobos standard fit.

First purchase was a 33/32 in Athletic fit which seems to be perfect. With the limited stock as it is right now, I ended up sizing up on the waist and going slim fit. I'm hoping It's not that big of a difference. From the sizing guide they had online I think it should work out fine.

 

I'm also going to look into the old navy pairs in person.

I got a pair of UA for Christmas, but they had to go back. The 32x30's were too tight in the waist & thighs and the 34x30's were too loose in the waist and too long. Sucks that they don't make odd sizing

I use the Izod Slim Fit flat front. Looks very modern, no buttons on the back and people always comment how good they look. I just paid $17 each plus discount got to be $30 for 2 at the outlet in the Van Heusen store. Best kept secret so far.

they are great pants and fit very well. You pay for what you get. you could go cheaper, but if you're looking for well made, athletic fit, golf pants then their great.

 

i think they are around $80 full price. not much different that current nike/UA prices

And ended up getting 3 additional pair. At the current sale and discount price ($54), they are unbeatable. Might be best fitting pants I have ever worn outside of tailored suit pants. I have a hard time paying full price for anything, but I probably would for these. The material and quality are excellent. I have only washed one pair twice (cold water hang to dry), but I'll update if any of them seem to have quality issues).

I've looked at these pants online for about a week. I'm very intrigued. Let me know what you think.

 

So ... pants arrived tonight and they are quite nice. I've never owned Lululemon ABC's but have checked them out in stores. For $43 (and maybe even less with coupons) these Old Navy pants are really nice. You need to get the size right, but the pair I ordered are pretty true to size. Extremely comfortable, plenty of stretch, nice tapered legs, definitely worth the price.

 

Hopefully they will hold up over time and stay in stock. I have the olive color and the brown on order and will be wearing them a lot between now and summer.

Gap makes a Performance Slim Fit "Khaki" that is really nice. Good fit, quality with a nice performance stretch. Its a little lighter on the weight side but make a perfect pant for office to course wear.

I ordered 1 of each to figure out what I like

 

The tour is water resistant and some stretch to it and looks more technical. There are zippers on pockets, stretch panels, extra stretching, etc. They look like modern golf pants made by Nike, UA, etc.

 

The regular has a bit of stretch and looks more like a traditional golf pant. They look like J. Crew made a golf pant.

 

 

The straight works best for me, and even with the hem zipper you can wear them at work and not look like a golf pro.

Awesome thanks! I actually prefer the more traditional looking type pant with some added stretch. The modern type pant doesn't look quite right with my black/white wing tip Icons.

I really think ordering a bunch of different options and trying them on is the best bet.

 

The tour pant isn't a flashy looking as the UA or Adidas pants I wear at the course. From trying them on an hitting some putts, they're a nice compromise. Just not sure I'd spend the extra money.
