At 5:00 CST on NBC tonight, they started off the highlights of the weekend with Tiger Woods' shots at the Hero today. Other than showing the leader board, no mention of the leader Matsuyama (sp?) who is leading by 5 over DJ and 9 over the aforementioned golfer. What disrespect to the other golfers. Since before August 2015, we haven't had to deal with this BS. I wish Brandel Chamblee, the greatest golf personality ever, would inflame the masses with this BS. I refuse to watch Golf Channel because of the orgasm that will be going on.

TV coverage isnt about showing respect, it's about entertainment and ratings. Many might not like it but the vast majority are going to find Tiger Woods more interesting than Hideki Matsuyama. Not sure why it's so hard for people to understand when they gripe about this. The GOAT is going to get a little attention at his own small field tournament, in his return back after 15 months no matter how he plays.

We knew this was going to happen. It is big business and if counting the number of farts a caddie makes is more interesting than a tournament winner then that will be what they cover. It sucks, but it is what it is and I still will watch the events I find interesting when I can even if some of the friendly rounds on youtube have better coverage. And this was Tiger's first tournament in a while and his personal tournament - they would do the same for any of the greats.

 

That being said it sure is precious that there is no article or video of the winner on the PGA Tour website ... just a link to the leaderboard ... :cheesy:

The media attention for Woods is understandable given this is not a big event and the most interesting thing about it is that Tiger is coming back from 15 month layoff.

 

But if it's like this in the majors while other guys are playing great golf then yeah you've got a problem.
