It''s nice to see the flipping season has started

Gotta love flipping through the BST and seeing black Friday deals marked up to twice their sale prices. 3 or 4 current sale threads seem to match up nicely. Sigh.

Are these in the "forced to buy" section of the BST?

Nicely played sir, nicely played.

I was thinking about this type of thing earlier today. ..

Figured a bunch of the Srixon 945's will be popping up. ..

I see it as passing on the deal to be sure it stays in our WRX family! !!

I get where you're coming from OP. It seems against the spirit of the forum to to buy up a deal posted on here then turn around and try and double your money. In my opinion it's not as bad when the item was available for all, but it can be frustrating when the items are limited and some members missed out because someone bought it to flip

But, it seems like it's not against the rules (they don't delete most postings doing this, the nike LC3 were a special case I think? ) I've seen a few people selling groups of those victory cord grips, or high end putters purchased cheap on wrx, iron sets, balls, etc.

Ill admit I've likely sold something I purchased on here for more than I paid for it, but I don't really keep tabs on that. Ive slowed down a little bit, but for a while there I was going think an iron set every week, a driver every couple of weeks, a putter every month, a couple shafts every week, etc. I usually just looked up ebay completed listing prices and reduced 10% (sometimes more)

I will sometimes get annoyed when I set an item I wanted listed at 150% of what the buyer paid for it, but I'm past starting threads on it. I did that a few times, it seems wrx is pretty split. Half the members think it's fine, half think it shouldn't be allowed (or at least think it's bad form) It seems like its allowed. But, just because you can doesn't mean you should. You can only worry about yourself though!

I like transparency and would like to know who flips, why not put it right in the add...if it's not breaking any bst rules, ID yourself.

I see too much, "I'm just passing along a good deal" talk vs. simply telling the truth that it's about making $...I can respect that; it's this little game that is played that irritates me.

So you want people to identify what they paid for the gear they're selling but they're the ones playing games?

How can it possibly bother you so much what other people do with their stuff?

Just my opinion; although it is in poor taste to snag a good deal on wrx and flip here (too bad for the seller and buyer), no one is forcing you to buy it. WRX is an awesome community where more often than not you can get a fair deal on great gear and get most/all your money back on a re-sale. I am with you OP. It irritates me too. I protest by not buying and telling my friends where they can get a better deal.

That said, where can I get some cheap 945s? Those butter blades are sick as F!

I see. So if you're in the market for X and X usually costs 50 bucks, and I happened to find a deal on X for 30 and decide to sell it. you're going to pass on my 40 dollar price because somewhere in that equation, you see something harmful, nefarious or unscrupulous?

I must ask, what exactly is that? Because I don't see it.

I'll answer yours with an example. goirish doesn't buy much for the sole purpose of flipping it. Being the club ho that he is, I'm hard pressed to believe he doesn't test everything he acquires, but even if that happens occasionally, it certainly doesn't happen 100 times a year. That's absurd. I can't imagine having the time to find 100 things to flip for a profit that makes it anything but a worthless pursuit. But, you've already said you wouldn't deal with him because he said occasionally he makes a little money on something. Not 100 times a year. So which is it?

Probably more like 2 times a year, because usually I have to take it out and play with a few times. My business model is poor, at best.

You're the worst. A terrible person for flipping and then you're terrible at flipping itself.

Usually, the few times it happens, it's- win an eBay auction at 03:00 for $80, wake up trying to remember setting the sniper. Rationalize that I might need it, take it to the range/ putting green when I receive it. Realize that I DON'T need it, I can probably get $100 for it on BST. Accept best offer of $90, feel like I came out ahead. Never take into account that I'm not bright enough to figure PayPal and shipping fees into my equations.

Exactly. I bought a badly mispriced tour issue superfast 2.0 3 wood at golf galaxy like 4 years ago for 35 bucks. Played 1 round with it, it didn't change my game very much. so I sold it, on eBay, for 110 I think it was. I just don't feel the guilt I'm apparently supposed to feel.

I didn't bypass your question, the answer was, not quite...no need to to refer to flippers as unscrupulous, nefarious, and harmful.

..your words, not mine....let's not confuse them. Go Irish and I are perfectly capable of having a Conversation.....which by the way his last post vanished, not sure what happened....I too know a thing or 2 about hoing and am thankful to be able to turn it around in the bst as it does replenish the ho,fund.....albeit at a loss most of the time, breaking even occasionally....I don't see the point in trying to make money here, it really defeats the purpose.....if everyone or more people then not were flipping then the bst would die off. I'm not a fan of it, never have been, never will be...1x, 2x, 3x, 100x, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

One of my posts did disappear, and I did nothing to do that. Probably due to my poor computer skills. I re-posted the exact same post as closely as I was able. I have nothing to hide. Nor am I trying to take advantage of anyone on this site. But, if someone feels that way, I sure am not gonna try to convince them to deal with me. I don't understand why that's a problem with any rational person.

The mods deleted a thread by someone selling several boxes of Costco balls for above the original selling price. It seems they have rules against such things. Something about not being in the spirit of the BST.

lol, hubris, vigilante....seriously.

Imagine buying somethinsomething on the bst and then later realizing it was for double, triple or more then the seller paid for it....imo most don't even consider that or go into it thinking that is what's happening....go back and ask for an honest opn on those deals.

Not trying to be an azz and am making a valid point. time to go find a cape for my new found role. lol
