It''s nice to see the flipping season has started

If you are aggravated by people buying stuff from the deals thread and flipping here, you have two options.

1. Don't pay the flippers price.

2. Pay attention to the deal threads and get in on the original deal.

Profit Flippers will only sell here as long as people are paying their flipped price.

It's all personal decisions. I joined just before Nike shoe dump started. Took me a day to figure out what happened. Still bought some anyway because I don't live near a Ross. I got $100+ shoes for $50. Don't care that the guy I bought them from paid $25 and made $8 after PayPal and shipping fees. It was a good price for me.

It's pretty apparent when people are flipping or leveraging posted deals so they aren't that hard to avoid if it bothers you.

Honor and integrity to me means that if you advertise a club in excellent condition, it better be so. And that you will promptly ship and resolve any issues should they arise. I see nothing that says or implies you sell your product at a less than a certain percentage of market rate just because the deal is transacted through GolfWRX. Although the few times I sold here I did sell for less than market because I felt like giving a member a deal. I even shipped and sent off a club for free to help someone out.

Exactly. Honor and integrity do not dictate that you must sell at a loss or a wash. You just should be honest with description and provide good pics. Then ship fast. That's all.

Price is purely dictated by demand. Always will be.

Those crying about flippers should do the work and buy at the deal prices. Seems like those crying want the deal without doing the work to get it.

That being said I'm not in favor of someone hawking this section for deals , hogging them all , just to resell here. That's a bit below the line in my opinion. But if you find the deal independent of here and want to buy all they have to resell here. That to me is fine. Chances are you wont get to buy more than a couple of anything and also chances are you will have to sit on more than 1 of anything for a while to make much $. So it surely isn't a recipe for gettin rich.

What we are hearing here is two polar opposites argue. One side wants o be able to grab and flip no matter what. And the other side thinks this is a price club and they are entitled to the deal without having to work for it. Both are dead wrong.

This is kind of ridiculous....I've never done it, but if I can grab as many of a deal as I can and make a profit off it....who cares? There seems to be an entitled attitude here- deals only for WRX'ers if they are going to use it in the manner intended..Please

I guess my question would then be: At what point does this become someone running a golf resale business for profit, and stop being someone complying with the "personal use" part of the BST rules that Booth mentioned above?

For the record, I've never said that people shouldn't be able to profit on the BST, and I feel like that's a ridiculous argument. Of course people should be able to sell stuff for market value regardless of what they paid for something. If you bought a $1000 putter for $100, by all means, sell it for $1000.

The issue i have is folks who run out and buy 25 dozen balls, or 8 sets or irons with the full intent of selling them for profit on the BST. That's not personal use. It's acting as a reseller. The BST shouldn't be a place for you to run your used golf equipment business.

Hey I agree- if it violates the BST rules then yeah it should be a no go. My comments were more on the side of flipping in general- if someone can use the DOND forum and find a great deal, stock up, and flip a big profit wherever then what's the issue with that? Because members here who would have really wanted the deal didn't get a chance? Too slow....

Because that's actually the definition of "not personal use". From a practical standpoint, isn't that member then essentially acting as a wholesale/retail/reseller (pick the term that fits best)? If you buy in bulk/semi-bulk with the intention to sell at a profit, you're a business, albeit a small one.

I've been part of a number of forums in my time, and from cars to golf equipment to Gundam models, someone swooping in and buying up a good deal to then sell to other forum members because they were "too slow" is certainly your right, but I can't imagine doing it. If the goal is to be part of a like-minded community, that sort of behavior seems counterproductive.

Again, it's not my intention to tell people what to do with their money, or how to live their lives. Do what you feel is best for you.

Right, and there are rules here that the BST is for "personal use", but there are no such rules regarding the deals found in the DOND forum. I've never done it, or considered doing it, but I find it ridiculous that people are being blasted for "taking deals away from people who want them" because they want to buy up a large stock of a great deal and try to flip it wherever. When it moves to the BST and violating the "personal use" rule, then that is a different story.

It's pretty apparent that the "for personal use only" is unenforceable to some extent because you see guys selling both left and right handed clubs (still in wrapper), new shoes from size 8-13 from same seller, clothes from size XS to XXL from a single seller, the list goes on and on.

Personally, I couldn't care less... if in my mind it's a good deal, and something I want/need, then I'm buying it and don't care if seller makes a profit or is losing his arse. To think that a forum of this size is going to be "like minded" is absurd. Some will be here for the rapport, or the interesting articles, but because of the way this site has been marketed ("the biggest, FREE, Buy Sell, &Trade on the web") you're certainly going to have your share of people who are on here just to buy, sell, or trade and nothing else.

I am a flipper, I know it.

But doesn't this stuff take care of itself?

If something is outrageously priced it isn't going to sell so why are you offended by it?

I sell things here to avoid the hassle and excessive fees of ebay and usually deduct that from the starting price I sell for here.

I have a set of wedges I am trying to sell now that are the result of trading in something else I could not sell.

At best I am going to break even

The line is when a person hangs his or her shingle and has a business license and a makes enough profit to file tax on it ..... with an individual working at a job isnt it $10k a year profit before filing ? i may be mistaken on that , but i thought it was the case...

He's not saying selling on here necessarily, but on eBay, Craigslist, other forms of classifieds, etc. People still freak out about that. If the price is too high, don't buy it, it's a pretty simple concept really.

Why does this keep coming up? At no time in this thread has anyone discussed anything about selling prices. But, looking through 4 pages, there are 10 people who've made this point. This discussion has absolutely nothing to do with selling prices. At all. In any way.

Mods, can we just lock this one up? It's pretty apparent that it's not possible to have an actual discussion about how people use the BST without it devolving into a completely different conversation about "If you don't like it, don't pay that much for it!". SMH.
