Challenge: Fly it 300+, bench, squat and deadlift 3,4,5 plates, respectively.

Thunder, my best wishes to you in a speedy recovery. I hate to hear about issues like that.

As far as the challenge goes, it's an interesting one. Flying it 300yds just isn't something most people can do. Neither is the combination of the 3 lifts.

It would be interesting to give it a go, though. I don't have any formal weightlifting experience, but I did play a ton of sports back in high school. My max #'s as a 17yo back then were:

5'10"; 155lbs

205lbs Max bench

315lbs Max squat

345lbs Max deadlift

265 carry with the driver

21 years later, I'm certainly heavier, but I don't think I'm longer or stronger, lol. I also have had a herniated L4-L5 and have two crap knees, so I won't be going for any of these huge #'s any time soon.

But, I do think I can get to these #'s, perhaps even this year, just for myself, not for any bet or interwebz fame:

175lbs (down 10 more, already lost 25)

225lbs (up 50lbs from current)

400lbs deadlift (up 100lbs from current)

280yds carry (265yds current)

9 min mile (cut 2min/mile off current)

(Due to the back and knees, I don't see much advantage in squatting anymore, which is a shame. It was the lift I was the best at WAY back when)

I think that would make for a pretty well rounded, in shape golfer.

I'd say I'm at an advantage off the top because I'm built a little thicker than the average golfer and have a 20+ year hockey background.. IMO the carry distance is the easy part for me and the lifts would take a little time to get back to being able to do multiple reps at those weights.

Very sorry to hear aboutyour health issues. It's especially tough and depressing for strong, athletic and active athletes to go through this type of debilitating malady. Sounds like you're handling it as best you can. Good luck and get well soon!

I should clarify one thing.... When I said that nobody could do it I meant that no current members in their current form could do it... Not that if John Doe spent two months with a power lifting coach, added 25 pounds of muscle, jumped on some gear and spent another three months with a Remax coach that he would be good to go. I wont bet 5K because I would never get paid, but if two members wanted to bet up to $200, I would take that with the deadline being one week from today. They would have one day to do the lifts and the golf the following day or vice versa. I would pay $200 each and if they loose they pay me $200 each. If they don't attempt it, they loose and have to pay. I would be willing to bet more based on the members and proof of funds. Let me know if anyone wants to take the bet.

You say a week but what about this, scratch...how about a raw total bet? 300yards + 315 + 405 +495= 1,515. I have a full trackman fitting next friday the 16th for my birthday. So what say you to the 18th and ill do the lifts that weekend?

Furthermore, I'm currently looking for work so money is tight and I just bought that new tour issue head so what about this..for $100 and 1,515 is the threshold and for any total short or high then we add that amount to the amount owed. So if my total is 1495 then I owe you $110. Plus vice versa, if I get 1525 you owe me $110. Deal?

I don't think I understand you.... What do you mean "raw" total bet? Yes I would be good with the 16th TM and lifts (all one day) that weekend. Regarding the money, yes I would be good with a $100 bet. Are you saying that if you come short by 50 pounds you are going to pay me the $100 plus another $50? I don't like this idea because that gives you the option to go up in weight for the bench and then down in weight in the DL and then you owe me less. Let's just keep it simple, if you do it I pay you, if you don't you pay me.

Who is the second player in this? The guidelines were two people.

Regarding the TM, we need a TM expert to come in here and tell us how we can prove the numbers are honest in regards to the TM settings. I don't think you would cheat it but it would protect both of us.

If we get these attempts on video, everybody wins. Well, almost everybody

Video goes without saying.

Raw total as in combining all lifts plus the drive, like a powerlifting meet. I've told you at this current time i'm sure i'm low on the deadlift portion so to make the total I'd have to make it up in the other lifts or the carry total.

Well the old "$5k wager" was for 2 people but this i changes that in the OP just has a personal challenge to see who can. You stated your bet, I countered with that because since this has to be done "currently within a week or so" I've stated I can't pull the deadlift portion and have a show to prepare for so don't want to waste the prep I've done and start all over.

Why all the caveats? This is the bet for two members:

Terms:(raw with wraps is acceptable)

-Fly it 300+ consistently with the Driver(trackman verification)

-Bench press 315(2 or more) using proper form

-squat 405(2 or more) using proper form and depth

-deadlift 495(2 or more) no bouncing 2nd rep.

Wow, that other thread turned into a freakin' train wreck! What a joke...

Serious props to Rosco and Thunder though - you guys are beasts. Hope for a solid recovery Thunder.

Even at my peak shape, I couldn't touch your guys' numbers - I was more of the 255/295/405, instead of the 315/405/495 guy (my squat has always been pretty weak for some reason). I always wanted to join the 1,000lb club, but suffered a lower back injury that make me afraid to do really heavy deadlifts anymore. Now, I eat too much pizza and drink too much beer while throwing the occasional work out in lol.

Oh and I can carry the ball 300 occasionally, but I also live at 6,000ft, so I get some help :)

what's the time frame on this bet?

Define fly it consistently - SkyTrak verified?

Haven't tried to DL 5 bills in a long time, I'm about 25 lbs off my peak weight, but doing a winter bulk

Are you available next week? Rosco is in, we just need one more guy.

300 yards Track Man verified with normal settings. 6 of 10 over 300 yards (in the air) no more than 15Y L or R of center.

I'd take it if it was longer than a week from now. I haven't been in a serious DL routine for some time, basically the only hesitation. If the videos don't have to be time stamped, I'll take the bet now lol

I am with Pin, the 300+ true carry would be the most difficult. 20 years ago when I played football we had 17 guys on the team that benched over 400 lbs. I did 460lbs bench back then. Of course that was not a meet type, pause at the bottom, yada yada back then for football but you did have to keep your rear end on the bench. We didn't max DLs but 495 would have been more than attainable. The most I ever squatted was 605. After I did the first rep, my nose exploded all over the dang place and fired me up and I did a second. Now that wasn't pausing again, but our strength coach was a stickler and you better get to parallel and not start up until he yelled UP.

My SS way back in my late 20's reached high 120s and now I have hit 119 on Dans flightscopre but I can't routinely fly it 300. I can fly it 280+ all day, but 3 bills in the air is only when I nut one.

Nope. I don't meet the criteria. Totally upfront with admitting it. I can't carry it 300 consistently and I cannot bench 315 for multiple reps.

Still interested to follow along. I'm in middle of debate. I don't think someone who can double 3/4/5 and consistently carry 300 is a unicorn, but I also think they're not common at all. Would be very impressed to see and obviously a good athlete

The bar was set high with those numbers..... My money is ready to be sent to a third party for the criteria placed. The TM will be easy to fudge so it will need to be one continues video showing the 10 swings in a row. If we have two takers let me know, until then I am out.

So you're talking about an average 300 carry for 10 drives? If it's average then I'd put a ton of money against it with the weights numbers. If it's a few out of 10 I'd just need to get a DL video and not hurt myself.

I'm just trying to make a bet for something if it has to be this soon. Pinhigh was blasting me last night for the videos I had available so maybe he wants to put up?

No I mean you were quick to blast me on the videos I had on my Instagram and being somewhat (Richard-ish, short for) about it. So if you are sure I'm truly that far off and making bogus claims I can't do then i asked if you would take the raw total bet.
