Taylor Made Weight Configuration?

I'm probably a little late to the party, but I've recently picked up a TM 425TP with the full weight kit. As I'm staring at all those little weights; I feel a bit overwhelmed.

 

Given that it could take me YEARS to properly experiment with all the options, I figured I'd throw it out there to the membership....

 

(I know what the TM website/wheel says, I'm curious to know about your personal experience)

 

 

What's the highest launching combo?

 

Lowest launching?

 

Is there a low spin configuration?

 

Anyone discover anything crazy/interesting about weight configuration?

 

 

 

I'm eager to learn anything I can from the collective TM TP experience of the board. Thanks in advance!

I have mine set up at 2-4-10-12 from toe to heel. It gives me a straight or slight draw and a medium high trajectory with this set up. I tried other combinations but I didn't notice much difference in shaping of shots. Trajectory was another story. The highest trajectory for me were the weights set up 2-2-12-12 front to back and since I am normally a high ball hitter I didn't like this set up. Play around with it at the driving range until you find your desired ballflight. This might take a little time but is well worth it. I still haven't found anything to kick this driver out of the bag. It is more forgiving than given credit for by most and is much easier to shape than the bigger 460 heads. I love it!

I tested the launch angles and spin with the heavy weights in back and lighter weights in front, and vice versa. Here are the basic results:

 

12g weights in back, 2g weights in front: Higher Launch and LOWER spin (by about 300 RPM).

 

2g weights in back, 12g weights in front: lower launch and HIGHER spin.

 

Not what I was expecting, but the results were consistent.

just toy around see what you like best and it doesnt hurt to get on a launch monitor while doing it!
