Found some sweet clubs I totally forgot about; so crazy.

 

I haven't played for several years as life has got so busy... Rented a junk be gone container over the holidays and have been cleaning out some man cave rooms. Found a complete set of Callaway proto irons (3-pw), matching wedges, a few utilities for long iron substitution options, 3,5 woods, and driver with two tour shafts. All brand new!

 

I don't even remember putting this set together, lol.

Yeah...it does sound odd. But I had some serious life events with family etc. a few years back. I just found a set of the 2009? Callaway's too, lol. Not new though...

Wow nice find, i found a set of like new Proto's [quad dot] but mine cost $300 on ebay. lol

 

Your's being new should catch a pretty penny if u plan on selling.

 

But, those are one of the best sets Callaway ever produced, mine are keepers.

Mind blowing how such a major purchase is just forgotten about! Unless I was changing sets multiple times a year, and owned a storage unit, this could never happen to me. Great find, though, but for me, finding cash in pockets is about the only thing comparable in my world. Ha!

I have never forgot about a set of irons before, but i have ordered a Callaway driver before on ebay and when i got it home and put it in my driver pile i noticed i had the exact same driver sitting in the pile. Doh!!

Not even close to as cool as the OP but still a funny one.

 

I had my eye on a Yes Putter. Had been stalking one on eBay and basically got outbid at the last minute. You see, I had been having some putting woes since my TM putter shaft broke and I was seeking a replacement.

 

Well as luck would have it I got outbid. So I go into my golf room/closet and start pulling putters out for an upcoming tourney. Low and behold - a Yes Tracy II putter just as I had been bidding on. HC and all.

It's been in my bag for about 3 months now and has been amazing. Still can't believe I almost bought an identical one - can't recall how long ago I bought the putter but clearly I need to go through my golf stuff to see what I have.

 

Sidenote: Shortly after the putter incident I decided to dig into my closet on the ball shelf. I was running low on Chrome Softs and it was about time to but some more but I knew I had some others that were also tourney grade. Sure enough I found 4 dozen Pro V's, a dozen Z-Stars, 4 dozen TM (some Lethals, Penta TP5, and Project a's), and two more dozen Chrome Softs.

 

I can relate to what happened where the OP was concerned. Sometimes life interrupts us I guess. And then, when we can re-engage with our fun stuff it's hard to remember where we left off. So we buy what we "think" we need based on having forgotten what we bought before.

 

Or, of course, it is possible that alcohol combined with terrible golf ho addiction could also be to blame.

no matter how long I was not playing I would always go visit my clubs, pick them up 1 by 1 and give them a waggle, currently doing this weekly as its the middle of winter.

I bought two sets of the same irons the same day a few months ago. Thought I was bidding on the same set. Ended up winning both auctions. Beautiful irons - Bridgestone Jumbo MTNIII. Nikka Whiskey is partly responsible.

I have the opposite problem. I know exactly where my old gamers are at all times. I have like 4-5 old bags of full clubs I can't get rid of because it would make me sad.

Taylormade 300 driver with stiff proforce? Parent's mudroom.

Ben Hogan CS3 driver? Wife's closet at her parents house with a set of Titleist 735cm.

My original 845 silver scots? My kiddos bedroom closet hidden behind his pack and play.

I can't remember names of my wife's coworkers but I can tell you where most of the clubs are that I've had since high school. Problem.
