Project X 5.5 vs XP115 S300

Ok I know these shafts are very much different but I am having a hard time picking between them. I have 6 iron s/s of around 87-88 mph with a fairly quick transition. Both irons feel smooth for my swing and both seem pretty accurate. I haven't been able to hit them outdoors, only on a GC monitor but the numbers seem pretty close overall.

I have hit the XP105 on a live outdoor range and didn't like it so much but that was in a different head than the XP115. They both are around the same weight and similar flex... I do have a steep AOA so I am leaning towards the PX 5.5. My main concern on the XP115 is with the higher ball flight, would it balloon in windy conditions? Any thoughts between these options is appreciated.

I think the Project X 5.5 is stouter than the standard DG S300. The XP is a real distance shaft

That's the weird thing... I have hit the x105 in a G30 head and hated it. But the x115 in a JPX 850 forged head worked awesome. The 5.5 has felt good in every head so I am leaning that way for now. They both seemed to be very accurate which I was not expecting from the XP115.

Just curious, what qualifies a shaft as a "distance shaft"? Softer in the tip section?

Which flex of the XP115 did you test and are considering? r300 or s300?

My main concern on the XP115 is with the higher ball flight, would it balloon in windy conditions? Any thoughts between these options is appreciated.

I thought you said the numbers were similar? How much higher was the actual flight of the xp115's when you tested them?

You're outside of LA. Find a place to hit them outside with a good monitor.

I play the dynalite gold xp which is very close to the xp115 and like the extra height. Lands softer on firm greens. I can flight them down if I need to. That might be harder with the JPX 850 so make sure you can.

Similar as in carry distance and accuracy. However indoors its subjective to real world situations.

True but what makes you more concerned about the x115's ballooning than the PX5.5's? If you are looking at the XP115 s300's (and not the r300's), then it's actually a slightly stiffer shaft overall compared to the 5.5's and in that respect less likely to balloon on you.
