I have to say I'm not impressed. I bought a new C-130 last summer. I love everything about it except for the fact that that the clubs stick when I pull a club. I called and the dude acted like I just woke him up. His solution was for me to box it up, pay the shipping and they would take it apart and see if there was problem. The guy acted like he couldn't care less. Needless to say I'm just going to buy a different bag and it sure as hell won't be a Sun Mountain. Rant over.

Sad but that has been my experience with them as well. I own two SM bags but will likely go with another brand for the next one.

Yea, basically he told me "tuff sh!t" I'll put my money towards another bag instead of shipping costs.

I don't see how this is Sun Mountain's fault. A lot of 14 way divider bags have issues with clubs sticking. The bag is over 6 months old. Didn't the clubs stick at the bottom during the first 30 days when you could have returned the bag?

agreed. My Microcart brake failed. Just snapped. I had it for a year maybe. They just sent me a brand new line/handle etc within a week.

I still have the original speed cart...over the years they've sent me new forks, brake assembly, pump, inner tubes...all on their dime...I've nothing but kudos for their customer service.

Sun Mountain has solid customer service and quality product. I do not know what your expectations are but they have quality product and want to determine if there is a manufacturers defect before making a decision. If you are trying to avoid the shipping then you should go through the store where it was purchased so they can expedite the process and possibly save the shipping cost.

My Ogio (that I still have) never stuck. I contacted Sun Mountain shortly after I bought it and after 2 weeks got a generic email stating their warranty policies. I think what ticked me off the most after thinking about it was the attitude of the customer service guy.

I'm not even sure what you mean by club sticking. Does it have a sticky residue on the inside bottom of the bag or does it mean that you have your clubs crossed against each other that your grips get caught against one another?

Also which c130 bag is it? Stand bag, 7 way, or 14 way? Does it have individual slots? What about your Ogio?

 

A good clarification goes a long way.

I've called Sun Mountain twice over the years. Once for a Speedcart issue and once for a zipper issue on my C130 bag.

 

In both instances, they immediately sent me the parts I needed to repair the issue.

 

No questions asked and had the parts within a few days. I was impressed with them.

Yea, I probably posted too soon after getting off the phone with the dude. His condescending tone and give a sh!t attitude really rubbed me the wrong way. He should be working in the warehouse,not C/S.

Not true. I love everything about the bag except the clubs catching when you pull one. It's not terrible on a cart when it's straight up. I walk a lot and when the bag is tilted the clubs hang up over 50% of the time. I don't have oversized grips so that's not the problem. Trying to put the driver back in the bag is a pain unless you put it back in exactly in the middle of the driver slot. I'm going to donate it to some kid that maybe has a crappy bag and no money.

I had a C-130 14 way bag and 3 of the zippers were hanging up. I contacted Sun Mountain and they sent me a RMA and repaired it for free. I had no proof of purchase and the guy took my word on the length of time that I owned it even though it was past the warranty period. BTW I just purchased a C-130 7 way bag because of the issues that you had. I have oversized grips and always thought that was part of the problem. The 7 way bag is working like a charm.

I'll just throw out another positive experience with Sun Mountain CS. Last year, the strap on my Three-Five broke, so I reached out to their CS. CS was helpful and responsive, and in addition to shipping it back to them on their dime, they replaced the double strap with a single padded strap at my request, as I wanted a good caddie bag. All at no charge, and it was resolved quickly.

Maybe it's in the approach? SM has taken care of me, granted of the half dozen C130s I have only used them twice and both times didn't cost me a dime other than time to send back 'defective' bag after they sent me a replacement.

 

As far as clubs sticking, it's that way on a lot of 14 way divider bags, not unique to SM...the grips get somewhat tangled and usually just grab a couple together lift them couple inches and then their freed up. Oversize grips only make this 'worse' but the overall design and quality of the bag far outweigh this occasional annoyance.

I have an original Speed Cart, and they sent me a replacement brake cable without any hesitation. No proof of purchase or any other documentation required, and I didn't even send them the old cable.

Good to hear of the positive experiences with SM. I may give them another try. I don't understand the personal attacks on the OP though. He shared his experiences and gets nailed for it. It would be nice to see a bit more courtesy here.

Sometimes there's a bad apple in the bunch, but it doesn't mean the whole bunch is bad. I would call back and speak to a CS supervisor and explain your experience. Any reputable company would want to know about any bad customer experiences and rectify them.
