Sunglasses w/ Hats

Ray Bans with cable temples. Never had them slip off even during the most violent of swings. And the lenses cover almost my full field of view.

to go along with original question....do you wear sunglasses while putting or remove them? just curious the approach majority take.

I don't take them off until i'm done with my round of cleaning my face of sweat.

I don't take them off for putting. Too much of a PITA to do it everytime and it doesn't make a difference to me.

I have owned 2 pairs of Sun Dogs and for the money (40-50 bucks) they aren't too bad. I believe in spending money for great sunglasses. I wear Maui Jims that were $190. I wear them driving and when I golf, the quality of the lense is AMAZING. Look at it as an investment in your eyes while the sun is out not just for golf.

 

If you want to go cheap, there are some nice glasses at Home Dept, they hold firm to your head because they are safety glasses but they look like an Oakley style for $30-45.

 

Based on the fact you appeared to have dropped about $3k on clubs, view this as a worthwhile 15th club!

Man after my own heart! I have like 1300-1400 into my bag too with all but 1 club being new. But anyway, investing in proper eye wear is never a bad idea.

Tifosi is another good mid-priced option along the lines of Sundog... and always check RBG for both, sometimes they're MSRP and sometimes they're 1/3 of MSRP.

 

One example is the Sundog Laser... Black is $55, but Champaigne with gradient lens is on clearance for $10 (and a solid deal). I'm tempted to grab them, but I just found a pair of Maui Jim Sports in the parking lot at Walmart last week, they just need new rubber.

I'm in the market for a pair of Golf specific sunglasses that don't put a huge sun tan line on my face when i wear them. The sides of the Oakley Flak Jackets are a bit too wide for my taste now days. Maybe i simply just need to put on some sunscreen, but i'm definitely thinking of going to another brand who doesn't have the wide arms like Oakley Flak Jackets.

 

I think i probably own 6 pair of Oakley Flak or Fast Jackets. I probably just need to make the change to Oakley half jackets.

I use Oakley gas cans, the flat arms fit well under my hat and stay in place.

If you can look into the Maui Jim sport line. THey are light weight and I've never had any issues with them falling off my face. They are in the $150 range though but their lenses are some of the best out there.

Take it with a grain of salt, but you could always just buy the sunglasses that you like and fit you the best, and give one of these hats a go: http://www.notchgear.com

I swear by Oakley Flak Jackets XLJs (not Flak 2.0)s.

 

and the prizms are money.

taking a look at the oakley sliver...not a fan of the frame-less look of flak jackets. prizm lenses get great reviews for on course. anyone use these during every day use. do they keep bright sun out. i've read they work better during cloudy conditions and the grey lens is better for full sun.

 

Look at the Oakley Valve, if you can still find them (check ebay). Full frame, g30 golf specific lens.

I will say pretty much any Dragon Sunglasses.. http://www.dragonalliance.com/en-us/sunglasses I have an older model that are similar to the Channel but more square. They don't go anywhere during a swing

Don't be absolute that the Prizm golf lens is everybody's choice: G30 non-polarized is my best golf lens in the Oakley line. I have the Prizm, but they just don't 'disappear' the way I need a golf sunglass to do when I'm playing. The peripheral vision just stays where it is distracting because of color rendition.

Smith optics...You are missing out if you haven't tried chromeapop lenses for golf. I have the nice glass ones as well, but love the plastic ones for golf. Never take them off on the course. Bronze mirror and brown lenses as well. Two pairs, owned more in the past. And will never get another brand.

Sunglasses are one of the essential golf accessories. Sunglasses will make the sun unsuccessful on your eyes so you won't permit it to harass your weak point intended for massive injure. Nowadays a variety of sunglass brands are available, where you can get sunglasses in bulk at cheap.

Do not get cheap sunglasses. They're low quality and do not offer any protection. I am not a massive fan of Oakley purely for cosmetic reasons. I currently have a Persol 0714 that I use one and off the course and it never fell off during a swing. If I were you I'd get a nice pair of Persol or Ray-Ban sunglasses that you can wear on and off the course without looking like an idiot

I have Half Jackets 2.0 and they fit without an issue with a hat. I do not take off to putt.

 

 

I only take off if it gets too dark for them.
