statmagic
Farmlinks is worth the drive, I'm not a fan of Silver Lakes. There are a good bit of blind shots which I don't mind but the first time playing it is kinda a guess... I'm pretty positive all RTJ Trail courses overseed. I played Oxmoor two weeks ago and it was in fantastic condition. The greens were in amazing shape. I am almost positive that Hampton Cove, The Shoals, Ross Bridge, and Oxmoor all will have green grass on tee boxes and fairways and greens. I've never played the Sebator (links style course" but have heard it's great. It's one of the only courses I haven't played on the trial. Farmlinks is great! Need to stay the night there and get in a few rounds. Excellent hospitality.
Scratch2Plus
Just got back from RTJ trail... Amazing value.Booked all 3 Capital Hill courses for days 1 and 2, then drove up to Birmingham to play Oxmoor Valley/Ridge and the last day at Ross Bridge before heading home.Long story short, I got sick on days 1 and 2. 103* fever, aches and chills. Had to go to visit an urgent care clinic where they gave me an antibiotic injection and a steroid injection.I was well enough to play 3 of the 6 rounds. FML. The 3 rounds were at Oxmoor Valley-Ridge and Ross Bridge. Condition wise, Ross Bridge was the winner hands down. Greens were smooth and quick and overall conditions were great.Of the 2 Oxmoor courses, the Valley course was in better condition. Different types of grass could have been the difference but fairways and greens were on the thin side on the Ridge course.I believe the starter said that the Valley was bent vs tif dwarf Bermuda on Ridge.Nonetheless, we enjoyed them all. bogey_golf
Doing a 3 day trip. Playing Ross Bridge (Day 1) If you had a choice would you play Capital Hill or Grand National the 2nd and 3rd days? Traveling isn't
tucsondivots
Scheduling a trip for mid October - 8 of us. Capitol Hill courses overseeding in early October. Would it be worth taking the chance on course conditions or playing elsewhere? Thought was both Grand National Courses Day 1, Two of the Capitol Hill courses on Day 2 and final Capitol Hill course on day 3 (then drive to Atlanta to fly out). Will be leaving on Sunday, late afternoon. How is traffic then? Alternate would be to replace Capitol Hill with Ross Bridge and Oxmoor Valley. Thanks for any input. Our first trip there. CDM
So updating..... Just got back last night. We played Farmlinks, Ross Bridge, Cider Ridge and The Judge. Will post a few pictures later, but felt 3 of the 4 were great. Cider Ridge was the shocker of the 4 rounds for the price. $49.00 18-Cart- range balls. 60.00 for all DAY play with cart and one range token..!! First 5 holes are flat and easy, then it really gets going elevation wise. Which was good, allows you to warm up and find your distances coming from Colorado. Ross Bridge - Farmlinks. As expected from the reviews and post both are excellent courses and conditions were excellent. I will note we played Farmlinks after the nasty rain on Saturday so it was very WET. conditions were not as good as could have been and it was cart path only making it interesting at times not knowing distances. Ross bridge is expansive would be the best way I can explain it, the feel is massive because it is soooo open in areas around the course though a lot of the area does not is not in play. Farmlinks is a great all around track. A different feel from the others. Peaceful aspect to it. Nothing around you....homes, roads, etc. A lot of nature and sounds was what one player referenced it to be. The Judge, probably going to get flamed but honestly felt it is over rated. All the hype did not live up to the expectations IMHO. Sure hole 1 is a good hole visually, but beyond that there was nothing special about it compared to the others. Some good holes but some "so so" holes also. Conditions probably add to my feeling about the course. They were bad compared to others, really bad honestly. Playing Ross Bridge then going to The Judge that did not help either. Its a great facility overall and nice staff. Just expected more from the course its self. Overall we had a great time with good golf and people. We are thinking of coming back late Sept / early October based on what everyone stated. Play during the early fall colors and conditions. Thought might be skipping the Judge =)

Our first trip there. your first trip to the trail i would on day 1 play lake or links at g.n. With the short course as a warm up you won't be disapointed. Then play 2 at capitol the judge and either of the other two then drive back to grand national and play the other long course then back to Atlanta. Keeping driving down Ross bridge and farmlinks are great but you need more time to play them all if you can. They have a special on how many years the trail has been open on that date you pay a dollar a year I think this year is the 25th except Ross bridge
Reidman
Just got back from our RTJ trip, and wanted to give some feedback. We played Ross Bridge, Farmlinks, GN Lakes and Links, Judge and Cambrian, and would rank them in that order. RB floored everyone in the group....amazing golf course. In my all time top 5, and I've played almost half of Golf Digest top 100. All had elevated, undulating greens of bent or modern bermuda, which made for tough scoring. Our group handicaps range from 2-12, with single digit guys shooting mostly low 80's, and our double digits either high 80 or low 90. We only had two 70's between 8 guys all trip, and that was my 79 at Cambrian, and my buddy's 75 at RB. RB, FL and GN Lakes had the best conditions. The others, although not bad by any means, seemed like they are still transitioning, and not as plush. Cannot say enough about RB and FL. Both are such big courses...you can hit your tee shots with your eyes closed.
