i've seen and experienced zero issues with the t1100 6.5 75g hzrdus falling out of the sky with too little spin in my m2 tour issue. as mentioned previously its a full window higher than the tensei ck pro white 70tx for me - i attribute this to the counterbalancing and my tranition - your results may vary. much easier to hit than the black.

I figured the 6.0 in 65 gram would be a good guess for this shaft for me. Shafts I have played in the past:

Rogue 125 70TX

Speeder TS 7.2x, 8.2x

Speeder Evo TS 757x

Tensei white 70tx

(Stock rogue max 75x in my ESZ), soon to be T1100 6.0 65g. Am I good with not tipping the 6.0? Thoughts?

One thing I noticed is the torque is lower in the 65g than the 75g. Normally it is the other way around.

@True Temper, is the 75 stiffer than the 65 in the same flex? Is the 75 for of a fairway shaft as the torque is higher than 65?

After Gioguy hit my untipped 6.0 65g, I think you need to go up to 6.5. He is using Kuro Kage XT 60 TX in his driver. He crushed one dead straight and hung one out to the right with mine.

Maybe I should tip the 6.0??, I already bought it so might as well try it. Honestly the rogue max 75x maybe has helped my timing, like a built in orange whip...my swing speed is only 110 average right now (shoulder issues), so I don't want something that I need to really get after. I tried the tensei white 70tx in my tour issue m2, but the speeder 8.2x beat it out every time, so I nixed the tensei. I thought the tensei felt not overly stiff. However, one kind of gets used to shafts and I have been playing the stock rogue max 75x in my epic, and now when I hit my m2 speeder 8.2x, it feels pretty stout. [btw, if anyone wants a top end, high CT tour issue m2, 7.9 loft, pm me]. Kinda funny how u can adjust to a shaft flex...anyway.

MY INITIAL POST

"over the past few years i feel that TT/PX has really stepped up their offering, the tour results and success would also indicate that this is more factual than just my opinion. that being said - they haven't quite worked for me... i've been critical of the HZRDUS after my initial positive testing as other shaft didn't feel as dead, offered similar dispersion and had what i call an extra gear in terms of ball speed. for instance the tensei ck pro white 70tx has been all of these. the material used in the new HZRDUS t1100 has me very optimistic that this shaft might finally combine all of what TT/PX has done great with that little extra something that was left for desire…"

FEEDBACK SUBMITTED TO TT/PX

in hands the shaft feels smooth – much of which is an unconscious visual association created by the paint/finish. very few high quality paints/finishes are harsh in performance – however, many matte products are tight, crisp and have higher pitched acoustics at impact.

when swinging the club it feels very stable border line rigid at the butt and tip – with most of the weight allocated under the grip end. you don’t lose feeling of the head through the swing and it loads surprising smooth through the transition. at impact the t1100 provides wonderful feedback and a controlled smooth kick. in comparison to other shafts in the same low/low classification – the acoustics are deeper off the face almost countering any of the higher frequencies. powerful – where I found the HZRDUS BLACK to feel and sound dead.

i consider the t1100 to be low/mid launch (a full window above my tensei ck pro white 70tx) producing low spin. the tradition of accuracy continues with this product as the dispersion is even better than the HZRDUS BLACK. this shaft wants to stay straight – but can be bled right easier than it can be turned over. potentially a shaft on the course that you would have to adjust your lines with and trust aiming up the left side – knowing it will fall right.

this shaft will fit more people than i would have first anticipated…

further suggestions would include the following:

create an additional t1100 profile with the weight more on the tip side of the shaft (i.e. KURO KAGE XT)

continue to use these materials

paint/finish matters

release a 85-95g fairway and 105-125g hybrid

Absolutely agree with the last part in bold. Would be cool to see the weight more on the tip side like the XT and a hybrid over 100 grams would be awesome with these materials.

If you are looking for heavier in the tip and low spin HZRDUS Black is really your answer. If you tipped 1" to 1.5" you'll get to about the same specs as a T1100 tipped but heavier SW (and a slightly more boardy feel).

As far as 100 gr Hybrids, for such heavy, short shafts we really start to loose any benefit from super strong fibers like T1100G. T1100G's benefit comes in being able to thin walls out in the tip and use less 0 degree material so we can increase our torsional ply size. At 100+ grams at ~42" we have a pretty thick wall and our torque is already very low, we don't need super high strength fibers. We could use T1100G just for giggles but the returns would be diminishing.

DB

unfortunately you are comparing a shaft in the black that already started out with less feel than the t1100 and are tightening the feel up more with the extra tipping.

the feel difference in the t1100 is miles different than the black in my hands.

play the softest shaft as possible that you can control and keep spin in check.

i suggest that you try the t800 (avaible in the epic as stock)...see how the weight and different flexes perform. use this to guide your decision on the t1100. its not apples to apples but its as close as you are going to find.

I did a quick search, and found some info on callaway, t800 is not t1100 material. T800 is not as counterbalanced. Also I would probably want a 6.5 flex (doesn't exist to my knowledge) in t800 because it is a mid/mid shaft that although is the same premise as the t1100, just isn't. T800 is for 95% of golfers, which means that T1100 is for 5% of golfers...

Sorry guys, we just swapped the torques when we made the table.

The 65gr is 2.8, 75gr is 2.5. Same bend profiles in both

Not sure what you mean by real deal. The T1100 and T800 are made with different raw materials, much like the Rogue 125 MSI and the Rogue 110 MSI are. Also, the T800 profile is going to perform well for a much larger percentage of potential EPIC customers than the T1100 will because it is a different bend profile. Just because the similarities between T1100 and T800 are mostly in their appearance, it doesn't mean that there is something inherently wrong with it or fake about it.

My only issue with the t800 is the fact that there is no xstiff option. The 6.0 felt great. It just felt a little loose.

Didn't mean anything bad about it. I assumed, and now know, that the same graphite material isn't in it and it's simply the same paint scheme.

based on personal experience and seeing your #'s - I'd suggest you go with the 65g in 6.5. you and I aren't that far apart SS wise and for me the 6.0 went right when I stepped on it.

I'm pondering either the 65g in 6.5 or the 75 in 6.0 tipped 1/2"

Some really good dudes doing reviews in here.

Question. I'm in a 6.0 yellow now and I'm happy. Very happy. I need a trajectory that is a little lower with a little less spin. Not a drastic change. I love the counterbalancing.

My swing speed is 105-110 on a good day.

Go 6.0 or 6.5 in this shaft?

I have the 6.5 70g no tipping and thought it might be too much. Nope. My swing speed is 108-110!with a quick tempo. Best HZRDUS shaft by far and tightest dispersion.

Interesting that I have a similar swing speed and finding success with the T1100 65g 6.5! Just goes to show that every swing is a little different and causes the shaft to produce slightly different results!

Yes. You are correct. I was rounding down. Testing this against Tensei Blue 70xt and a soon to arrive Tensei V3 70xt. Put up against Rogue 125 tx etched shaft and HZRDUS was way better with tighter dispersion for me.

Have been playing the T1100 75gram 6.5 in a '16 TM tour issue M1460 for about 6 months now and by far the best shaft I have ever played. period. I have recently been playing a Tour issue EPIC sub zero with the Tensei white as the T1100 AND the sub zero was just way to low spin for me.

I have posted in another thread about this shaft and I will give my review on here again.

the T1100 has a very firm feel throughout the entire shaft. If you like extremely butt stiff shafts this is the one for you. I have a dead on 110-112mph ss and it isn't too much shaft for me. I did not tip it and it is straight it. as the OP stated both of the T1100's I have or have had "spined" out on the exact same point on both shafts. crazy crazy QA/QC. If you have a hard transition or an aggressive swing this shaft will help from having any "loose" shots. I didn't see an increase in ball speed but that's because I probably don't load it enough but that is ok. I will sacrifice distance for accuracy all day and this shaft produces accuracy like its a joke. even though it is a VERY firm and VERY stiff shaft it doesn't feel that way. It is very smooth. it did knock my spin down consistently at least 400 rpm's. I can work the ball just fine with this shaft as well but I can't get big movements. If I want to draw it then I can but it's not a hook. If I want to fade it I can but it doesn't turn into a ballooning slice. my only miss with this shaft is a smothered pull hook if I try to jump on one and I get too far out in front of the ball with my upper body. The one thing I found REALLY interesting is that when I first got it I thought "ok Kirk, big boy shaft, big boy swing". I would swing aggressively thru the ball and it was great BUT it's not a swing I can sustain for 14 holes I would be using it on. I decided to back off of it and just swing smooth and WOWZERS, I actually hit BETTER drives with it and had an incredible amount of control. it kicked thru impact and would send the ball on a wonderful trajectory. I have a 9.5 head that is set to 11.2 ( true loft is 9.7 deg). and I launch it on avg about 13deg with a ball speed avg of 165 mph. spin is around 2400rpms (down from around 2800). my EPIC is at 11deg of loft ( head is 9deg) and avg launch of 13.5deg of launch angle spin is around 2100-2200 and ball speed is ( wait for it) 170-172. That is with the Tensei white. My only issue with the EPIC is that it is a lot less forgiving and my misses are not as desirable as my M1. If I hit the Epic High on the face the spin many honestly be around 1500rpms and just dives down. The T1100 is one of the greatest shafts ever made in my opinion.

They make a mid spin T1100...give it a try if you can get a hold of one...

New Bag in the making...

i've seen and experienced zero issues with the t1100 6.5 75g hzrdus falling out of the sky with too little spin in my m2 tour issue. as mentioned previously its a full window higher than the tensei ck pro white 70tx for me - i attribute this to the counterbalancing and my tranition - your results may vary. much easier to hit than the black.

Swanry, what would you recommend after reading my schpeel?

play the softest shaft as possible that you can control and keep spin in check.

i suggest that you try the t800 (avaible in the epic as stock)...see how the weight and different flexes perform. use this to guide your decision on the t1100. its not apples to apples but its as close as you are going to find.

Is the T800 in the epic the real deal though??

It's a real shaft, yes. But it's made for Cally. It's not even on PX's website. It's a similar design in that it's counterbalanced but it also plays weak to flex.

I'm really digging this T1100. Still hammering it.

Question with regards to possibly adding headweight.

Would you have to add more weight, potentially, with the 75 gram shaft vs the 65 gram in a driver?

I'd be putting this in a Vapor Fly Pro head (if I got it).

About half a SW point increase from 65 to 75.

A few questions...

I currently play the Black in 75g 6.5 untipped. Tall, quick transition player.

Numbers in my 16 M1 are 1900 spin at around 13* launch, carry is pretty consistently between 280-285 with a few in the mid 290's at around 110 SW.

Other than the difference in feel that the counterbalance that this shaft provides, what tangible gains could i potentially see with the t1100 over the Black?

Any potential for higher ball speeds with the t1100? Is it really 4-500 less RPM than the Black and would i potentially not be creating enough spin with that drop? Tighter dispersion?

The HZRDUS Black is the best shaft for me that i have ever had as far as the data is concerned as well as on course performance with it's excellent dispersion. Wish i had had this shaft years ago before i blew out my shoulder and my SW was 120.

Anyone have any side by side trackman data comparing the two shafts?

Can anyone tell me what the CPM would be on a T1100 75 6.5 playing at 45.5 in a Epic SZ head with no tipping? I know the Hzrdus black 75 6.5 in a TM 430 head at 45.25 cycled at 268. Thanks for the info!!

Wouldn't be able to give you exact numbers, depends on headweight and clamp length etc, but it should be about 5CPM stronger set up the same way, assuming you get back to the same swinweight.

set up 16 tm m1 T1100 75gr 6.0 phenomenal shaft came from using 65 6.5 black for a year-- hands down a different shaft-- really really happy I spent the coin, I don't want to read whole thread - but has the rifle flex been discussed? reason being.....

I know that my 6.0 is actually 7.0 in tip and 6.5 in butt -- same throughout the range of T1100 -- add a full one on tip side and a half on butt

side notes-- won a week trial for the pre-release epic and the t800 was crap.... also, Sunday at a range before we went out had a younger guy I recognized that plays local mini tours try my set up--this guy is at least 20 years younger and has at least 10 mph more clubhead speed and his current set up is Titleist 917/Accra -- he hit my set up 3 times-- and we laughed as it fell outta the sky at 130 yards out-- pretty trippy

this profile is not for all-- I know on a Nicklaus course on Sunday I was able to shape the T1100 really easily and it was a joy to play
