I'm curious to know if the Ben Hogan Company is at the PGA merchandise show. Does anyone attending know?

They just laid off a bunch of people and have downsized. I don't think they can afford a booth there..

I didn't want to reply as the OP question was asking if this who attended, of whom I am not one, but I recall a thread about the hogan company the week or three previous saying that they'd withdrawn from the show, along with unfulfilled (and previously placed) orders for clubs.

Hogan was always a funny company. I remember the year they dropped all their tour players except Justin, and then he wins a major. Never a big company , just quality. Apex's were exceptional, as good as anything I've ever hit.....Had one of my glory years with a set in the bag.....

My Ben Hogan by Bettinardi BHBB 12 Hawk will never leave my bag. Best face balanced mallet ever made imo.

I can Confirm they are not answering phones and voice mailboxes are full.

 

You can't be in business if you don't answer the phone.

 

I wanted to add a PTx to my set and actually talked to a salesman on the 4th. He said yes, most of the staff had been laid off, but they were still taking orders and making clubs. He assured me to the point that I went ahead and placed an order. Mistake....

 

I started calling a week after the order and nothing. Main line. Salesmans direct line. Nothing. No one home.

 

It's Very irritating to be lied to, but even more so when my credit card was hit IMMEDIATELY for $180 bucks. I am contesting the charge with my credit card company, and at some point I'll get the money back, but the process takes 3 months.

 

As much as I like my clubs, it certainly makes me look at them a little differently having been fleeced by the company in their last dying moments.

 

So sad on so many levels.

Typically the credit card company credits your account for the amount in a few days. If you've demonstrated a good faith effort to resolve with the vendor(a few phone calls), they will credit you for the purchase and fight the vendor for you.

 

If they are still making clubs, you will probably get the clubs quicker, or you get to keep your money.
