The one with all the bags

I picked up the newest Golf World magazine in the U.K and it has a Taylor Made advert inside with all their Tour Staffers bags stretching down a fairway.

It's similar to this http://www.taylormadegolf.com/tour.asp however the one in the U.K (and presumably the rest of Europe) has some of the names on the front row of bags changed to incorporate more European Tour players. The marketing geniuses at Taylor Made though have now got David Toms using a set of left handed clubs and Mike Weir using a right handed set and because i'm such a loser, I picked up on it.

Has anyone else seen and does anyone else think it's lazy marketing and somebody should be fired.

Or is it not that important and I am really a loser?

I haven't seen it yet but it does sound sloppy. Maybe some lazy ad man should be fired. Also, what does your boss think about you posting here on a Thursday morning?!! (just kidding)

I'm afraid I am just as much of a loser as you: I remember years ago getting very annoyed when they had a pic, in an advert for Scotland I think, of Sam Torrence standing leaning on a left-handed club. I imagine they flipped the pic over because they thought the text fitted in better thet way round, but I was very cross indeed.

Lol, there was another recent thread with a picture of Paul Casey (I think) who was swinging left handed. I can almost understand these though because, as you say, the companies have obviously reversed the picture in order to better incorporate the text.

 

The Taylor Made one is basically an oversight and geeks like me aren't happy about it. I want someone at Taylor Made's marketing department to be fired for this! (before I get fired for being on GolfWRX all day).

they sent the pro shop i work in about 4 posters and the first thing i noticed was the clubs and im sure theres a spelling mistake on 1 name aswell.

I noticed it when it first came out, and thought how clumsy it was (admittedly, probably only to anorak-saddos like me who would notice such things) along with Sergio Garcia's alleged bag with the wrong irons in it.

 

I don't suppose it'll hurt their sales though. The Taylor Made marketing ethos seems to be 'saturate the market with our products and they'll be bought in their millions by lemmings..' The best equipment pay-to-play can buy.

 

Perhaps a bit harsh, but I'm very, very cynical about TMAG marketing.

I'm impressed that someone so far from Sheffield has heard of the place! Recently, it's resembled Venice, sadly, thanks to the freak weather.

 

Sheffield has many football fans. There are even some people who enjoy watching Sheffield Wednesday too...

Write In about it, In the magazine I read, someone won a Titleist driver for star letter when writing in about a Cleveland advert, which had Vijay and his caddy walking up a stairs, "Singh" was spelt incorrectly on his bag!

A Fan walking up also had no head on his shoulders, there was other things too!
