Why does it matter where he originally purchased the head ? He advertised the sale as "head only". People ( Not all, but seems like a lot lately) that are buying USED CLUBS FOR A FRACTION OF THE NEW PRICE WITH TOTALLY UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS.. IF YOU WANT FACTORY, mint clubs or equipment with all accessories, then don't even get on the BST. You need to get a clue... If you were so concerned with this second weight, why not ask up front ? Instead you ask after the fact, trying to get either a free weight or a better price.. I am so sick of this going on

 

Why does it matter where the head came from? Because that's what he told me. If Titleist truly sold a loose head then it would stand to reason the weights were included as they are integral to the head design/flexibility.

 

You're correct, given how this has turned out, the question should have been asked and is a lesson learned. I didn't, however, have any idea both weights wouldn't be included since it was portrayed as purchased directly from Titleist.

OP...you got exactly what the ad stated. Nothing more...nothing less.

 

Seller offered you a refund. Shipping is always on the buyer, and refund only comes after item received back to the original seller in original condition.

 

Why these deals seems to be going south so quickly and so much more often lately is kind of confusing to me.

 

I only have 2 feedbacks here - both positive - but that doesn't make me an untrustworthy or shady seller. It only means that I have not completed many transactions here in the BST.

 

But, those that I have completed, have been positive.

 

Lesson for all here:

Ask questions OF THE SELLER before paying.

 

Try to avoid asking questions here AFTER THE TRANSACTION and expect everyone to side with you.

 

Finally....be civil at all times. And, expect to follow the rules of refunds/returns. Don't force YOUR terms on the seller.

 

And, if you want something with absolutely everything with it that you would expect in a NEW item...purchase a NEW ITEM at retail.

If I'm buying a used club head in the BST I'm not assuming that everything that comes with a new club will be included. If it's not listed or in the picture I figure it's not part of the deal. If the OP wanted the weights, wrench, etc he should have asked as they were neither listed not pictured. Move on.

I think most people are rejecting your premise that this would be "normal and integral". the club arrived to you in a perfectly playable state. Again, this is USED gear. I can't believe how many buyers want to replicate retail while paying 1/3 of the cost.

I appreciate all the positive feedback. The" used" head that i sent him was brand new, he never mentioned that, just complained about the small headcover that i threw in to protect the head. He also mandated that i either A. pay for his shipping and after i return his money, then he will send the head or B. gift him $30 so he can buy a new weight.

All i did was offer a full refund, he could return the head, and i would gladly send him back what he paid. He threatened BST, and then started this ridiculous thread. Sorry for wasting everyones time

Prior to potentially escalating, I wanted to get input/thoughts regarding a recent situation.

 

I recently bought a Titleist 917 F2 (head only) from a fellow member. I received the head and was surprised not to find the second weight which is standard with every 917 (driver or fairway wood). When I reached out to the seller and asked him to send the weight he responded that he "didn't know anything about another weight". We have had several back and forths and in those he claimed he got the head directly from Titleist. Now, I didn't know Titleist sold loose heads but surely they would have sent both weights as that is part of the head design/system. He also is maintaining ignorance around having prior knowledge about interchangeable weights for this product, but his signature shows he is playing a 917 F2 in a different loft.

 

I would rather not expend the energy pulling PayPal into this ordeal but I feel I've been slighted and this character is either- at best- incredibly ignorant or- at worst- a liar about his knowledge of the CG weights for this club as well as its origin. In his defense he's claiming he sent exactly what was in the ad- a 917 F2 head. He is unwilling to compensate me such that I could buy the missing weight and is unwilling to pay for return shipping in a refund situation.

 

So, am I wrong in pushing for what (I think) should have been included or is it customary to sell 917 heads in the Classified FS Forum with one of the included weights from the kit missing?

I am the fellow member and I will add my input. i was selling a titleist 915 head only, no wrench, no headcover, no weights, just the head. I did not receive any weight when i purchased my titleist head. I paid for 2 day priority shipping, and included a 913 headcover just to protect the head. As soon as he paid he immediately asked for the tool, which i did not have, and told him that. He sent me a message after receiving the head and his 2 offers were 1. send him money so he can buy the tool 2. give him back his money and paying for his shipping cost. I told him to send the head back if he didnt want it and i would gladly refund what he paid, but not for his shipping because that is on him. He is threatening a BST dispute, which i laughed at. Bottom line is that he wants more stuff then he paid for. Thanks for backing me up as he is clearly petty, cheap and bossy

 

Well, it was anonymous...

 

Anyway, it was a 917 head (not 915)...you paid for regular Priority Mail (not two-day) but, given the relatively short shipping distance, it was delivered in two days...and offered to provide an old 913 headcover for shipping protection (as it was a hybrid headcover you might as well have wrapped it in newspaper as the head didn't even fit).

 

After paying I asked if the tool was included- simply an inquiry. Kind of ironic as it wasn't needed given the omission of the standard second weight.

 

After discovering the second weight wasn't provided my message included two suggested offers- the first asking for funds to purchase the missing weight (not the tool, as you've again incorrectly misstated facts) and the second as noted.

 

I'm certainly not going to consider returning the head- in advance of a full refund- to someone so untrustworthy. That would be foolish.

 

Bottom line is you're misleading, unfactual, and someone with whom others should treat circumspectly. I've been trading within this forum for a long time and have accumulated a credible feedback score. You have a feedback score of 3. And perhaps most revealing is your need to remove the nameless nature of this situation in order to interject half-truths and obfuscation into this thread- I don't understand why you felt compelled to do so but am not surprised.

Well, it was anonymous and I had zero intention of ever mentioning the other party. It was a matter between him and me and as could be seen in my original post I was simply looking for advice around how to proceed (specifically if recourse was at all appropriate given the circumstances).
