Everyone have different saying. But i say just move on and closed this thread. :)

I have no issue people selling masters ticket for 3k-5k. When we went last year, i see a ton of scalpers selling ticket outside Augusta National for more than that.

This thread seems like an attempt to start a war. To me, it seems silly for somebody to complain abt the asking price for an item being listed. If it isn't something you're in the market for or doesn't fall in the range that you would be willing to buy it, then why not just move along.

The beautiful thing abt the BST is that it is a marketplace for ALL golf related items and a great resource. I would hate to see that change.

I fully agree with this!

ALL golf related except for some things (more than 13 of the same grip, new shafts).

I really want someone to tell us what the difference is between selling a new/uncut shaft and a Masters ticket.

Ok ...Im back... i must say .. wow ... what a bunch of .......well .. not nice folks.... lol ( ill try to be PG )

Let me try to explain my point of view 1st off and then ill se if i can reply to each accusation or snarky remark...

I simply dont understand why anyone ( other than flippers) would be ok with guys entering the lottery with the sole idea that if they win the priveledge to buy tickets they will flip for a gross amount of profit ..... If these flippers were curbed would it not make it statistically easier to get chosen in the lottery ? As in if only folks who intended to attend joined the lottery there would be less in the pot to choose from.....

I simply asked why we (people of this site ) were ok with the flippers selling a pair of tickets with face values of $65 ( or is it $75?) for $3k plus???? ( there are a pair on BST now for that unless hes reduced them) .... Yet when we see some one trying to make $10 on a pair of shoes or a box of ksig balls we cry fowl and imediately shut down their ads...... is this not hypocrisy at its finest ? For the record i rarely sell anything and certainly not flipping shoes from Ross.... If every site would push them all to ebay their sales would slow and the prices would come down ... people dont trust ebay as they will buying from a community like this... I think the community and its strict reputation are being taken advantage of .

Also i would love to see the masters inact some sort of identity pprogram where the original buyer of said tickets has to be present at the gate to use them...

As for the people bringing up the circle t putter in my sig.... I got a good laugh from that.. its literally been in my bag 2 weeks and this is the 4th negative comment about it ... and the irony is that the machine mokume m10 ART that it replaced cost me twice as much and not once a snarky comment ..... if you knew how little i had in that cameron you would call me a liar... That being said what the hell does that putter have to do with people flipping masters tickets that they were sold in good faith? Please explain !..... You cant say that its a free market yada yada... not when you are buying something that is not meant for resale .... In my opinion its shady at best and dishonest at worst... They sell these tickets at a rediculously cheap price , and do not intend for people to sell at that much or a markup.... Its really close to when guys are GIVEN free clubs at the sponsored testing events ( oven , kingdom etc) and then try to sell here on BST.... really close...

Why do you care? It doesn't affect you one bit.

sure it does.... if i want to go ill have to pay the inflated price... if flippers werent in the market the lottery would have far fewer folks to compete with....

I realize this is very idealistic on my end and isnt going to happen... But i do not see why they freely use the BST to do so

The Nike shoes were very different as many of those weren't even wanting a profit but were just trying to get them for other guys. Masters tickets are going for 20x face value which is in fact illegal in most states. I could care less as I usually just buy them on the street the week of the tournament for 200 or less per ticket. The mass hysteria here and ebay drives the prices crazy but there are plenty to be had on Washington Rd at a much better price.

yes i understood it to be illegal some places too...which also begs the question of why allowed here?

I still contend that the BST rules are set up to combat for profit selling and that forum is a spot where we can all off load excess purchases and experiments so being able to sell one thing and basically one thing only for a huge profit just doesn't seem like it fits.

People who have access to new/uncut shafts can't sell there because manufacturers prohibit that but people who get tickets in the Masters lottery can sell there even though Augusta prohibits reselling them.

At the same time I get that there is a market for them and they are golf related but I still tend to think that selling for a drastic profit should be prohibited in the BST.

At the end of the day those people are just trying to avoid paying eBay or StubHub fees and are just using this site for their gain. Is that why the BST is here?

Might as well add my 2 cents. It doesn't bother me these guys are selling (flipping) these and can ask for whatever they want. They are fortunate to get them and they can do what they want. But for those who don't mind this practice than there should me no gripe when someone is flipping putters, shoes , balls , etc same thing that person got first and can do what they want if you don't want as others have said move on

bingo.. i think its the double standard that bugs me most of all.. Im not paying anywhere near flipper price to go... ill just watch from my living room as usual.. But cant figure why everyone is ok with it when they get all up in arms about other forms of the same thing .

I'd love to see a putter that isn't stolen that you can sell for 30 times what you pay for it.

I actually laugh at people who flip Masters tickets. If you're so cheap and you need $5K so bad you'll sell something that you in absolutely no way earned or contributed to then you should be able to sell them wherever you want. If you're signing up for the lottery with no intentions of going to the tournament you're Busch League so have fun taking advantage of a site that doesn't charge a buying or selling premium.

I'm not sure if USA companies do it, but in Canada most concerts and sporting events are credit card entry to prevent scalpers. I.E. The purchaser of the ticket has to be present and there is a limit on tickets.

wish they did ...but in my experience no... you can buy online , print it out and just get the paper ticket scanned at the door ... more worried about lookig through purses than if tickets are from original purchaser ( with good reason im sure) .... i dont see why they cant do both

The super bowl this year was set up so you could only get your tickets in person with an ID. At first I hated the idea cause as a season ticket holder, I couldn't give them to a family member if I won. After thinking about it though, I was ok with it since it meant no scalpers were just flipping for profit.

So you're using the BST to turn a profit and avoid fees elsewhere?

The market value isn't driven by the fact that there just aren't tickets available, it's driven by the fact that most people who actually sign up for the lottery use the tickets instead of wanted to make money off of something they did nothing to earn other than type in their email address.

You think it's a viable business and even though I think it's a slimy way to make money there is a market for it. However, I personally don't think this is the appropriate site to make money on unless you are a paying sponsor. I think people who are actively using the BST to make a profit should not be allowed to use that portion of the site regardless to what they are selling.

Hey ****** bag... For the record, it cost me about 800 bucks to sell that set in here.. But just like I said in the ad, I thought I would save someone some money along with some fees.. I knowingly gave up a grand to sell somebody 4 at a much better price then could be had anywhere else online i.e. StubHub eBay etc

Man we dont need any name calling on that level.... just no reason for it .. PM him and call hi, whatever.. But just because a difference in opinion obviously exists there is no need for calling someone things like that.... Its a valid discussion whether it steps on your toes or not..
