Miura feel firm. Epon uses a lot of 1020 steel which is softer than the 1025 used by Miura.

Miura- MUSHY Soft

Epon- Thump Solid Soft

Depends on the CB iron but I prefer the Epon 302 and 316 over my Miura CB57

Kinda agree with the post below you.

I don't get soft with Miuras at all. I get pure, clean and solid. Granted, I've never hit Epons, but I don't get soft from Miura Irons/Wedges.

I've got to say I have never liked the way EPONS feel. I know I am in the minority here.

Limited experience in testing with Epons (two sessions on Trackman), but I think I just like the solid feel (IMO) of the Miura's better. When I compared them to Miura CB's in the past I would say the Epons are more forgiving (slightly to a lot depending on the model you hit) and definitely longer - these may have been the longest irons I've ever hit - I dont know how but the smash factor was much higher on trackman with these.

I still went with the Miura irons because the look, feel and consistency I had with the Miura's won out at the time. Consistency on two counts - one is I always worry about distance control in really hot irons - right or wrong - I was just afraid of potentially getting a 7 iron that flew 20 yds further all of a sudden. The other is consistency in my swing. While the Epons are more forgiving for sure than what I purchased, I also seemed to have more slight mishits with them than the Miura's so I needed to make more use of the forgiveness with them. Irons looked slightly larger at the time to my eye, and for whatever reason you give me a bigger clubface and I will use more of it (thats a personal issue though, not the fault of the club).

Couple of caveats - its been several years since I've hit them, so I am going on memory and I've never compared head to head to Miura's more forgiving options (PP for instance, nor the CB 57 which to me is an incredibly solid club).

Feel is very subjective and especially what shaft you use.

At the moment I'm in Love with Shimada Tour Lite in the 302 and in the process of putting the same shaft in the Miura CB57

You can't go wrong with either brand and I'm sure they will "feel" totally different in your hands than mine.

Can't afford to keep up with you. Just gonna have to be content with my cb57/steelfiber combo!

Miura for me feel anything but Mushy They feel Dense solid .... I don't care for their 'feel" compared to a Endo forged Iron.

Depends on the head.

I agree with most about Miura, I feel they are best "feedback" forging in the biz. Even flushed they give feedback of flush, and not in what I would say is a soft way.

Haven't hit epon, but have hit endo prgr and romaro and those to me are really soft. Don't overlook Kyoei either, their blades while I hated the heads at address/transition from 7/8, are softest blades I have hit.

Big! You're talking about these new Kyoei MB heads released? What didn't you like about them at address? I've been reading about them and they sound soft but the JDM market scares me as a whole as I see a lot of good looking blades but having no background knowledge is hard to know what you're going to get.

NO, I had the Vega Raf cm and VM-02.

I LOVED the Raf CM except transition and rounder toe in 3-7. HOWEVER, the 3 and 4 were easiest long irons to hit for blades ever, really. The VM02 I hated the faces of. I have always loved Kyoei feel, but they just don't have heads that I love. I almost got some zestaims, and now with new line we will see. I am not worried about it, I KNOW I will own another Kyoei set.

For what it is worth to this thread, My raf CM blades felt like in between endo/miura. Like a really soft feel that has a sense of density behind it. Truly Kyoei's best forgings may be the best of all, I am always surprised they dont do more OEM or have more word of mouth. I almost got their VDC CB set when looking but I was getting sick of overthinking the CB set and just bailed on safe and cheap wilson staff V4s which I do like in transition from small blades. I am really picky with heads at address, like I had to sell that set of Vegas I LOVED over the 3-7 irons....sucks. 8-pw were perfect, why the set just couldn't stay like that....
