As has been said, stack and tilt happened, which wasn't good for his game.

Didn't stack and tilt ruin Mike Weir too?

yes, and made Tiger loose his career due to broken back.

Lot of stuff going on with that

edit: had to add this article when charlie wi defended stack and tilt.

http://canadiangolfer.com/2010/09/11/st-supporter-wi-rips-weir-badds-and-foley/

check how wi played the last few years...........and when you meet him ask him about the article from me

Since you seen to enjoy trashing other instructors and the players they work with would you please regale us with stories of your players and their illustrious careers? Thanks.

He has been or was seeing Scott Hamilton. It was humping the goat issue and he won on a tough course at Grand National where "weak" field included Vegas shooting 60 in one round. 74.3/136 water everywhere and tricky greens. And having kids is the bomb...great christian guy with 5th on way I think...people here trip me out sometimes.

That answered my original question.

All sounds good to me.

Happened to be scrolling thru the leaderboard on the PGA Tour app, and while he isn't in contention, I saw Aaron Baddeley's name. Made me wonder, what the heck happened to him? I can't recall the last time I saw him play. OWGR 136.

I know what hasn't happened to him. He hasn't gotten a haircut in 10 yrs. He looks like a 15 yr old girl. Probably has too much hair in his eyes to play well.

Now is this necessary?

Sheesh.

I don't think Baddeleys been stack and tilt for years guys. He's certainly flown under the radar for a while now though.

I can't see the point in bashing any sort of swing model or method as at the end of the day, they all have won, lost and been injured by playing golf.

Can anyone here say different about their proven swing model? What's that? Nothing....

I have at least 53 different swings that have never injured me.

He won the Barbasol like less than a year ago, no?

After this weekend he will have a couple top 20's in the last month or so. He'll be in the top 125 comfortably.

Not all these guys can dominate every week, lol.

I partly blame TV coverage. They never seem to show him, So I kind of lost track of him.

From what I recall, Badds had his best results with snt.

He won $3MM in 2007.

That was around when he did the GD snt cover I think.

Badds enjoyed his best year in 2007 with 10 worldwide top 10's in 26 starts, including victories in the Phoenix Open and Australian Masters.

Congrats to Baddely for the good finish.

No offense, but I'd like him a lot more without the christian baggage.

Would it affect you if Badds' Christian baggage affected him?

I remember when he was a 16yo am he played a round with Gary Player. Gary then anounced Badds was the most talented 16yo he had ever seen and was better than tiger at 16 and he should go pro straight away etc etc. I'm not sure that was the best advice a 16yo could receive. His swing back then was a thing of beauty, a combination of athleticism and exquisite tempo. And as good a putter as you will ever see. He was always slightly eratic with driver though.

He always came across as bit of a flake in interviews, a bit like a tennage surfer/stoner without the drugs. He is also very full on into the jesus thing, not that there's anything wrong with that as there are plenty of bible thumpers with great careers.

My personal opinion is that he didn't pay his dues as a golfer. He went straight to the PGA Tour as a rookie without doing his time and developing his game on the minor tours. Not saying you can't go straight to the big show, but in Australia we don't have college golf or the high level am setup as the US so it is a much bigger step up to the PGA Tour for an Aussie like Badds than it would be for Spieth or DJ or Tiger who have already played high level competitive golf through college and the US am circuit. Scott was just as big a deal as Badds at the same age, but he played the Aussie Tour, then went through Europe for a few years before going to the big show and seemed much better prepared for it when he got there.

Those two drives he hit on #18 today were awful. His putting stroke, however, is one of the best around.

I remember when he won last year seeing a stat on his career earnings. Just checked PGATour.com and he is now at ~$19.5 million in career earnings. I don't think that includes European or Australian tour earnings.

That's a nice career!

Yeah it's a very nice career, but he had Rory/Sergio talent as a junior. He has also been on tour a long time, over 15 years. With the talent he displayed as a junior you would think he would have double those earnings with a major or two thrown in, especially with the short game he has.

Also he wouldn't have much earnins from Euro Tour as I doubt he has ever played an event there.

Here's something....as you pointed out, he' hasn't been stack n' tilt for years. We also haven't heard of him for years- since the reverse pivot with no "C", hit it low with no power, spinal orthopedist's dream known as s n' t.

I talked with him before the Heritage and asked him why he left S&T and if he felt he was hitting the ball too low with S&T. HE SAID the only reason he left was he was being 'overcoached'. They were trying to hard to make it perfect, the 'model' was how he put it. He never felt he hit the ball too low.

Good for him. If I still had any hair, it would look just like his...

Having said that, if I ever see him with a man bun I reserve the right to change my opinion. :swoon:

Is it too much to ask that if someone starts a thread about a PGA player they actually spell the name correctly in the thread title?

I spelled it the way the PGA Tour app had it spelled, for that very reason.

Check the spelling of the first name too, then you'll see what Spanky's talking about.
