I talked with him before the Heritage and asked him why he left S&T and if he felt he was hitting the ball too low with S&T. HE SAID the only reason he left was he was being 'overcoached'. They were trying to hard to make it perfect, the 'model' was how he put it. He never felt he hit the ball too low.

He had the best record with snt, by far, it seems.

Is it too much to ask that if someone starts a thread about a PGA player they actually spell the name correctly in the thread title?

I spelled it the way the PGA Tour app had it spelled, for that very reason.

Check the spelling of the first name too, then you'll see what Spanky's talking about.

My fault. Am I still allowed in the treehouse?

What's wrong with A-A-ron? LOL. But yeah Aaron was the easy part. It's knocking driver on the green on a par 4 and missing the 3 foot putt.

I remember when he was a 16yo am he played a round with Gary Player. Gary then anounced Badds was the most talented 16yo he had ever seen and was better than tiger at 16 and he should go pro straight away etc etc. I'm not sure that was the best advice a 16yo could receive. His swing back then was a thing of beauty, a combination of athleticism and exquisite tempo. And as good a putter as you will ever see. He was always slightly eratic with driver though.

He always came across as bit of a flake in interviews, a bit like a tennage surfer/stoner without the drugs. He is also very full on into the jesus thing, not that there's anything wrong with that as there are plenty of bible thumpers with great careers.

My personal opinion is that he didn't pay his dues as a golfer. He went straight to the PGA Tour as a rookie without doing his time and developing his game on the minor tours. Not saying you can't go straight to the big show, but in Australia we don't have college golf or the high level am setup as the US so it is a much bigger step up to the PGA Tour for an Aussie like Badds than it would be for Spieth or DJ or Tiger who have already played high level competitive golf through college and the US am circuit. Scott was just as big a deal as Badds at the same age, but he played the Aussie Tour, then went through Europe for a few years before going to the big show and seemed much better prepared for it when he got there.

Why did he have to pay his dues? Some people just skip a few grades, and that's cuz they are smarter and can handle it. He handled it very well and won 4 times in his career too. That's a very good PGA tour career and not a flame out. The amazing thing is he actually struggled and able to get back in it while many other pro's have not been able to. He's certainly "paid his dues" when he needed to. That really shows even more character.

My point is that as Aussie the PGA Tour is a huge step up in class and depth of field. Scott and even Norman made their way up to the big show through Europe. I also agreed he has a very decent career, but for someone of his talent as a junior he hasn't set the world on fire. And I did say it was my personal opinion, not fact.

No. Those of us in the treehouse know how to spell. ;)
