X tour or MP60?

Please Help!

Ok guys currently playing MP 60's with DG S300. They have been in the bag for 2 years. Love them but have the itch to change to something with a little more forgiveness. I am really thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of X tours, not the X forged. I am at a 0 handicap right now and am a little bit of a digger. Please help convince me if I stick with the 60's or give the X Tours a go. Please point out pros and cons, my main concern being forgiveness. Which is more forgiving and which is longer?? Thanks for all the help guys.

Just to be sure, we are talking about X-TOUR, not the new X-Forged....just going with your post.

 

They X-tour, per my experience, will be longer than the 60's on all hits. I do not think they have the feel personally. My handicap is pretty high, above 10, so we are in different leagues. The 60's to me just feel so much more responsive. I feel like I can make the ball do what I want. The X-tours, although probably longer, will not provide you the same smooth feeling. Especially for someone who is a good ball striker.

 

This is all hearsay, but I have heard the X-Tour is probably the best player club callaway has ever made. Hopefully someone who has them in their bag and really knows them can offer more experienced insight.

X-Tours hands down. Probably the best players club they EVER made. I tried them but didn't have the game for them. It was responsive and felt great Forged cavity forgiveness. Phil should go back to them!

X-Tours ...... IF ....... you try out several shaft options FIRST! I played Titleist blades for a long while and have always hit TT DG S300 shafts, but in the Callaways, they just do not feel like the shaft is responding correctly to the head with my swing. Go try several options.

 

After that ............. BUTTER!!!

x tour are longer and easy to work but with less fear of going to far right or left. also find them easier to hit higher which makes them stop quicker then the mp60

Are you sure Phil has changed? From pictures at the Scottish Open and The Open Championship, it looked like he still has the X Tours in the bag.

Looks like the X tours have it so far. I was going to go with S 300 in these, now thinking of a rifle or X 100. My driver SS is in the 110 - 115 range, I have quick transition and load the shaft pretty hard. Keep the suggestions coming guys, thanks in advance.

I have chosen the x-tours myself. The MP60 came second alongside the Srixon i501's. The reason being forgiveness, as I play to 12 atm. I was thinking about going for the x-forged, but they were not what I needed so got the x-tours on runout.

There must be a reason Phil has not changed to the x-forged!

My previous set was Precept Tour Premium forged, very nice clubs, but not in the x-tours league. I got them with s300, softstepped them once and they go great. I hit the ball very high, so was looking for a more penetrating ball flight. No problem at all with s300's so long as you like DG. I came from using Rifle lite's and have had no problems adjusting at all.

You will find people who say the have too much bounce etc, but I think that is a myth as the effective sole is actually quite narrow. You will not have any trouble working these clubs or controlling the flight.

OK I am playing of a 4 right now and the 60 were a little harder to hit but the long irons got up easier and felt much better to me the Tour were a little clunky to me. Distance went about the same. I did not care for the looks of the tours at address. But again all I have ever owned is mizuno irons. For a digger the tours may be the better option. I say wait and hit the new mp 57s first
