Well.. Given it get a copy for free every month for being a member of my state golf association and still don't read anything and the same goes for the 20-25 guys I regularly tee it up with, i'm going with VERY.

Now if you were the editor of a monthly magazine that had to create interesting things about golf every thirty days, how in the world could you be criticized for some inane ranking of "nice" golfers?

Every month, month in and month out, you have to create at least five articles on how to hit a drive, chip, putt with pictures and drawings--arcane advice from pros who probably don't give technique a second thought. You have LPGA pros hitting balls, PGA pros hitting balls, someone's secretary hitting balls and talking about "rotation" and "outside in" twelve issues a year.

You have reviews of equipment 90% of the golfing world will never step up and pay for. You have courses to review that 99 % of your readers will never tee up on.

You have, obviously, a problem dreaming up something that isn't repetitive in a magazine that is, if anything, repetitive.

Who are we to quibble and harrumph around about who is included and excluded in an article on the sweetest pros on earth?

I did notice that Sabbatini wasn't included so some thought went into the thing.

Pet peeve of mine is when people pick one article or whatever from a magazine/paper/website and call the whole thing trash. Magazine has to cover all interests, some people will like this article, if you don't like it, don't read it!

 

Golf Digest still has great writing from the likes of Jaime Diaz, last magazine they had three really interesting articles with Jon Rahm, Mike Davis and Erin Hills, wouldn't be a fan of 'The Loop' and all the frivolous stuff they do but that kind of stuff is just needed in the modern media landscape whether you like it or not.
