Lets assume that Dr Mann is correct , that there is miniscule 'extension and supination' happening through impact from P7-P7.2 and is done by a subset of pga pro golfers who we can then define as 'Drive Holders' (the ability to keep a 'functional flat lead wrist' and minimal supination through impact).

 

Say we developed a really fast 3D AMM monitoring system that proved this and it traced out a graph like Phil Cheethams , showing rapid extension/supination into impact but then plateaus off suddenly and temporarily (for the time taken for the clubhead to get from P7-P7.2) due to whatever biomechanical moves done by these 'Drive Holders'.

 

What would be the repercussions of this discovery?

 

1. Would existing 3D AMM systems need to be binned and new ones designed with better algorithms?

2. Would existing instructors have to recall their students and say 'oops' we made a mistake about trying to ingrain into you rapid extension/supination through impact?

3. Would many golf instruction books based on 3D AMM data have some 'chapters/recommendations' made defunct or plain wrong overnight?

 

The quicker we sort out any issues/doubts now , the better for all concerned in the golf industry.

This assumes golfers are being taught this directly. Plenty of golfers could be doing this without ever addressing it as a direct issue. It is being suggested to you that most good golfers simply are doing it, which might be irrespective of whether they have worked on it directly.

What's more likely that Mann with his 2d analysis is correct or that Cheetham and others experts with better tools are correct?

 

Lets assume the latter rather then the former and we can all move on. And I doubt any good instructors are trying to teach their students to rapidly start extending the lead wrist near impact... so not even on the radar of any good instructor

 

And at the end of the day Drive Holding and the description of that term was by introduced by Kelvin M. he was the one who came up with the whole theory not Mann who has taken Kelvin's ideas and twisted them and basically acts like they are his ideas.

 

The truth is Mann is a thief ,he should be wearing a mask!
