I was stationed Miramar and let me tell you, I did this every single day. Riding on my motorcycle, starring at the F/A-18s take off and throwing my fist in the air, all while Kenny Loggins was blasting in the background.

My son was stationed @ MCAS Miramar from late '05 till late '09 as part of 361 - Flying Tigers Squadron working on CH-53s. He had a CBR600 and then a CBR1000 out there with him. Ironically, CA has had helmet laws for years and they had to wear reflective vests on base.
